Julius Posted April 2 Posted April 2 (edited) Announced in today's Switch 2 Direct Edited April 2 by Julius
Julius Posted April 3 Author Posted April 3 A third-party has potentially decided to buck the trend of being cheap, and are not putting their game on a Game-Key Card? From CDPR's official press release for the Switch 2 release of Cyberpunk: Quote CD PROJEKT RED proudly announces that one of its best-selling video games, Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, will join the launch day lineup for Nintendo Switch 2, as revealed in today’s Nintendo Direct. Snapshot: Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition contains the base game and spy-thriller expansion Phantom Liberty in one ultimate package, available for the first time ever to Nintendo players. The game takes full advantage of Nintendo Switch 2’s features, including gyroscope aiming, motion controls, touch screen commands, and mouse capabilities. Nintendo Switch 2 owners can purchase the game on launch day in a physical 64 GB game card or digital download from the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2. Good stuff if that means what I think it means. If not, well, it's not good stuff. Duh.
Dcubed Posted April 4 Posted April 4 (edited) Genuinely shocking. Then again, they were one of the very few 3rd party publishers who actually bothered to put out a game on a 32GB card on Switch 1 that required no downloads to play; so it makes sense that their follow-up follows suit. Given how bad their reputation (and this game's reputation) are though? They need all the good PR they can get. I still suspect that this will be the rare exception though, and that almost all 3rd party games will be released on a Game Key Card, because 3rd party publishers are tight fisted bastards and they hate you. FalcoLombardi Posted Tuesday at 09:15 PM Posted Tuesday at 09:15 PM I had considered buying another console (Xbox or Playstation) to play this game. But I guess I can wait to buy the Switch 2. 1
Julius Posted Wednesday at 11:38 AM Author Posted Wednesday at 11:38 AM This Switch 2 version of the game will have cross-progression compatible with other platforms: Great stuff!
