Julius Posted December 12, 2024 Author Posted December 12, 2024 Well, looks like we've got a TV spot leak ahead of tonight's TGAs -- this is coming Summer 2025. Trying to buy fewer games on Day 1 next year (at least AAA), but this'll be one of them. Loved II, really enjoyed Definitive Edition, maybe this gives me time to go back and play III?

Hero-of-Time Posted Thursday at 05:38 PM Posted Thursday at 05:38 PM I wasn't paying attention to this release but seeing people say that this trailer made the game look like Uncharted made me give it a watch. Yeah, I'll be keeping my eye on this one. 1

Yeah, I'll be keeping my eye on this one. There seems to be a lot of confusion online right now about the structure of the game and whether it's taking a linear narrative approach like Uncharted or is more in line with the first two Mafia games ("open worlds" which essentially serve as set dressing, but with a linear mission structure; the third game had a true open world), and this mainly seems to be down to an FAQ on the official website which states: Apparently it was confirmed during the PAX East livestream that they're drawing inspiration from the first two games, so I have to imagine that's what they're drawing from in terms of structure? But I'll check it out myself later to see if I can parse their meaning, but either way, it seems like the messaging is a bit of a mess. Have you played any of the Mafia games, H-o-T? They remind me a bit of some "open world" PS2 games (just without all of the extra baggage of modern open world games), aren't particularly long, and I think I remember reading that the Platinums (for the Definitive Editions of the first two games, anyways) were pretty doable and didn't take a crazy amount of time. The vibe, the story, and the characters are all good fun, so it might be worth a look! Oh and also the collectibles in II are Playboy magazines and posters
