Emerald Emblem Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 http://www.siliconera.com/2017/05/16/harvest-moon-light-hope-coming-ps4-pc-switch/ Natsume and Rising Star Games are working on a new Harvest Moon game. Harvest Moon: Light of Hope will come to the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC in North America and Europe. It will be unveiled at E3 2017, where the Nintendo Switch and PC versions will be playable. As in all Harvest Moon games, Harvest Moon: Light of Hope begins with a young farmer establishing a homestead. A sea voyage gone wrong leads to our new rancher being trapped in a harbor town that has seen better days. It is up to us to establish a farm, raise animals, make the town more appealing again, restore a lighthouse, find love, and create a family. It is supposedly inspired by the original Super Nintendo game.
KingDeDeDe1337 Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 This is so exciting. I wonder if the release has anything to do with Stardew Valley being released for the Switch this summer?
V. Amoleo Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 I only found the other day that the newer Harvest Moons aren't really Harvest Moon games. The original developer makes Story of Seasons now.

This seems to be a Natsume game , which means that it will probably be released as Story of Seasons in North America and Europe. I am pretty confused reading about this though, as the game has yet to be added to the wiki page for either series.

It's Marvellous who were the devs and now publish them via XSEED instead, right? It's all very confusing.

Trying to figure it out now- So it seems that the 1996 SNES Harvest Moon game was published by Natsume in North America and Nintendo in Europe, and developed by Amccus. This is the first game in the Harvest Moon/Story of the Seasons series. According to wikipedia, there have only been five games with Harvest Moon in the title that are part of this second series (Puzzle de Harvest Moon, Frantic Farming, The Lost Valley Seeds of Memories and Skytree Village). Two of those games were puzzle games and one was a mobile game, leaving two games. Now is when it gets even more confusing, both of the games that are part of this second series seperate from the original Harvest Moon were publoshed by Natsume. I think that any game bearing "Harvest Moon" is Natsume outside of North America and Rising Star in Europe. This leaves the two "Story of Seasons" games which are published by Marvelous in Japan, X-Seed in North America and Nintendo in Europe. I don't really know if this has cleared anything up, but I am now dizzy from jumping between Wikipedia pages.
