The First Time You Played.....Pokemon.

My friend came back from visiting his dad in America with a brand new game that'd just released over there, Pokemon Blue. I had a go and got hooked pretty fast. I remember we were trying to figure out how to cut down the bushes. We finally got HM1 then caught lots of different monsters, until we found a Bellsprout who could learn it. After I learnt there was also a Red version, I asked my friend to get me a copy when he went to America again (which was pretty soon after as far as I remember).

 

I feel quite lucky I got to play through the entire game without any knowledge of that abomination of a cartoon.

 

I've played every generation since, but none have grabbed me as much as the original. I enjoyed Gold a lot too, but when I think back I can't actually remember much about it. I'm looking forward to X & Y more than the past couple of generations.
