MoogleViper Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 There are no tax benefits. Or am I doing it wrong? No income tax between you, and you get double the tax free rate to pass on to offspring or whomever. Lower capital gains tax. Other potential benefits, such as no/lower tax on savings and other income if your partner doesn't work or is in a lower tax bracket. And Cameron has plans to allow married couples to transfer their personal allowance to one another. If one partner doesn't work, and the other earns less than the higher tax rate threshold (c. £41,000) then the can transfer some of their personal allowance to their partner. Apparently the max saving they can make is £150 a year.
Mr_Odwin Posted August 3, 2013 Posted August 3, 2013 Shame they're all useless to me. Well aside from the last one, but capping it at £150 is lame.
