Mr_toad Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 You gotta love him. Who else grew up with the larry games? Here's my personal top 6 # Leisure Suit Larry 7 - Love For Sail! # Leisure Suit Larry 1 - In the Land of the Lounge Lizards # Leisure Suit Larry 3 - Passionate Patti in Pursuit of the Pulsating Pectorals # Leisure Suit Larry 2 - Goes Looking for Love (In Several Wrong Places) # Leisure Suit Larry 5 - Passionate Patti Does a Little Undercover Work # Leisure Suit Larry 6 - Shape Up or Slip Out! How about yours?
1upking Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 Larry was great, the recent comeback was very disapointing tho. My favorite was the remake of the original LSL1 VGA followed by number 6 and then number 7. Any one ever play Softporn the text adventure that was on the larry collection disc?
Tilim Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 Heh, I dunno which of them we once had installed on our old comp with Windows 95. I only remember that it was the only game we had on our PC, and I wanted to play it. Had to answer some questions in English, (which I didn't understand much of during that time) to prove I was over 18 and suited to play the game or something, so it was all about luck. I tought it was funny, even though I didn't know what the hell I was doing. :P
RoadKill Posted September 16, 2005 Posted September 16, 2005 Leisure Suit Larry 6 was the only one I played extensively and I did thoroughly enjoy it, I remember playing it when I was mucho mucho younger. It was awesome as all hell.
Skyla Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 What was Leisure Suit Larry 4? I had number one on DOS. I remember the questions asked to get in the game were about the Beatles  It was very funny when you died; a cut scene followed with a production line of Larry heads (Nothing bad...) which were placed back on a body etc. Or when you enter an alley way you get attcked by a mug etc. I don't really understand text adventures; I had Hugo as well and didn't get far in any of the games. Well, I think I was about 5 or something anyway Does anyone know where I could download Leisure Suit Larry 1?
Mr_toad Posted September 20, 2005 Author Posted September 20, 2005 Are you talking about the original Leisure Suit Larry 1 or about Leisure suit Larry VGA, the remake of the first one? You can find the age questions of the first Larry here. They sure bring back good memories. I also found your Beatles question. "Let It Be" was recorded by a. the Rolling Stones. b. the Monkees. c. Creedence Clearwater. d. the Beatles.
Skyla Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 Wow, thanks. I gotta download it now I can remeber it being a great game. These questions are really funny: How many programmers does it take to screw in a light bulb? a. None, it's a hardware problem. b. None, programmers can't fit in light bulbs. c. 100. One to hold the bulb and 99 to debug the house. d. None so far, but they'll get to it Real Soon Now. My boss is a. a jerk. b. a total jerk. c. an absolute total jerk. d. responsible for my paycheck.
Mr_toad Posted September 21, 2005 Author Posted September 21, 2005 Not sure, but I think you can download it from this place. Just click download Leisure_Suit_Larry_1.1987.zip (266 KB). I guess you can work it out from there. BTW, this sure is one good age verifying question: Are you a kid? a. Yes, but I wanna play anyway. b. Yes. c. No. d. No, I are a grown up.
1upking Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 I think ill have to dig out the cd rom now, I want to finish number 5, I never did 1st time round
Skyla Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 Thankyou Mr_Toad! The game downloaded fine and it works on my DOS emulator. Ah, so funny... Geez; why was I able to play this when I was little?
Kurtle Squad Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 I've never actually played it, though I do think he's a cool character. In my opinion he goes in the list of great but overlooked characters such as Billy Hatcher & Parappa the Rappa (is that how it's spelled?). He's higher than them in cool gameness however!!
