Eenuh Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Ok this is a bit of a weird request but I can't really find an answer anywhere. Basically I need to find an application that will let you bulk edit contact numbers on an Android device. The numbers were put from a Windows phone in Outlook onto an Android phone. But Android seems to use a different format and now all the numbers are wrong. Like instead of 0031(0)678954321 they are now 00310678954321 (without the brackets), which means none of the numbers work anymore. Does anyone know if there is an app around that can help with this? It's pretty urgent I find this so any help is welcome! (I know nothing about apps or smartphones so I don't know where to look...)
madeinbeats Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Sorry, just throwing this out there but all your contacts will be in Gmail now too if your account is synced, maybe that offers some alternative editing possibilities. I take it you've read this too? http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/move-contacts-windows-mobile-android/
Eenuh Posted June 6, 2012 Author Posted June 6, 2012 The thing is it's not for me. Someone moved all their Outlook contacts to the Android device (apparently about a 1000 contacts...) and since the number format changed all those numbers can not be used now... I don't know if they use Gmail but I don't think that will really solve the problem. =(
Shorty Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 (edited) It's not a perfect solution but if all else fails... By googling I can see there's a few apps that let you export your contacts to CSV. You could then open them in a text editor like notepad++ or regexr and assuming they all have the same amount of numbers before the brackets, use regular expressions to fix all the numbers.
