EEVILMURRAY
Whilst trying to find a nice picture of Rayquaza I find AVG telling me there's a virus and it needs quarrantining. I do so and it seems everything goes back to normal. When I try bringing firefox back it asks what to open it with, and it's done the same to other programs on my PC. I've tried Googling it but have had little success. Anyone come across this before?
Ten10
Same thing happened to my uncle. ( Sans pokemon pic) I think you've managed to screw up the file association of your pc. Try this program to alleviate the problem. Worked for my uncle. This is assuming it's a Vista / Win 7 box: http://www.winhelponline.com/articles/231/1/An-Utility-to-Unassociate-File-Types-in-Windows-7-and-Vista.html If not try searching for the same sort of program for xp or whatever. Just to make it clear the file you want is at the bottom of that post titled unassoc_1_4.zip. DO NOT DOWNLOAD ANYTHING ELSE!
EEVILMURRAY
I'm on XP, having a look at what to get instead if I have to. Not having much luck.
Ten10
Apparently you can fix this in XP by doing the following: Open Explorer Click Tools > Folder Options Select the File Types tab Delete any associations. Might be worth just doing the ones you're having problems with.
EEVILMURRAY
Any associations? The rest of that window has associations, there's around 15 which don't. We're talking at least 100 and I have to delete them all?! And now it can't find my rundll32 thingy. I'll have to try this tomorrow if it'll do any good. To resolve this issue, follow these steps: 1. Put the Windows XP CD ROM disk in the CD ROM drive. 2. Click Start, and then click Run. 3. Type expand X:\i386\rundll32.ex_ c:\windows\system32\rundll32.exe in the Open box, where X is the letter of your CD ROM Drive. 4. Restart the computer. Ten10
RE: Any associations I would just check what is there for .exe really. I wouldn't delete them all. Also the person in this forum seems to have been having the same issues you are currently experiencing: http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/topic/129270-rundll32exe-application-not-found/ (fix seems to be on page 3)
