flameboy Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 So yeah found out about this after listening to The Geekbox podcast. Its basically an MMO as if we never moved out of the 8 Bit era but the internet did progress. I've downloaded it for a crack and gonna see what its like. Here's the trailer and website for download and firstly a little bit of game info: NEStalgia is an original MORPG inspired by the glory days of traditional console RPGs. Essentially "Dragon Warrior 3 meets World of Warcraft", NEStalgia is an amalgam of the best generations of RPG gaming.Wage classic turn based battles using a multiplayer party system, and enjoy modern trappings such as a full-featured quest system and hordes of epic loot to find. We even have a WoW-style Auction House for item trading! Close Community Instead of being an anonymous face in the crowd, you'll play on small scale servers with a friendly and close-knit community of players. In addition to the cooperation-focused PvE experience and memorable storyline, NEStalgia offers an incredibly balanced PvP system and regularly hosted server tournaments. You may decide to join one of NEStalgia's many player guilds, or perhaps create your own guild - complete with a customizable guild cape. 100% Free to Play NEStalgia is 100% free to play from start to finish. There is no "real money trading" for in game items, and absolutely no in game advertisements. We want everyone to be able to enjoy a hassle free NEStalgia experience without ever paying a dime. For those who wish to support the game's continued development, NEStalgia offers an optional yearly subscription to enable a few extra non-essential features, such as additional character classes and more ways to customize your character's appearance. Powered by BYOND Created by a small team of hobbyist developers, NEStalgia was designed using the BYOND multiplayer game creation system. This powerful set of development tools has allowed us to create a stable and secure multiplayer environment, and makes NEStalgia perfectly playable on slower connections and low-end machines such as Netbooks. BYOND's free game distribution system is similar to Steam, and makes joining NEStalgia quick and easy. Download page link: http://www.silkgames.com/nestalgia/download.html
