Ashley Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Today I had to fish down a balloon that had escaped and gone into the roof at work (considering the roof is...a long way away? 20-40 meters, something like that) because it would disrupt the censors and alarms or something. Attached a balloon to ribbon with some sellotape on top and tried to stick it to. Harder than it sounds, particularly when one of the rescue balloons got stuck to the ceiling and we had to use another (and it somehow ended up popping but at least it came down). So what weird and wonderful tasks have you been given at work?
The Peeps Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Sometimes they send one of us out to clean the car park... not a job you'd expect to do when you're working in a pub/restaurant, particularly when you're only armed with a bin bag. It's a stupid and pointless thing to be told to do.
Pancake Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 The other day my boss randomly decided on a whim that she wanted me to open up a bag of dirty bed linen, packed ready to be sent to the laundering company, and lay all the bed sheets across the carpet, to make a "path" for the delivery men to walk on, in case they got mud/snow on the carpet. Since then she's not requested this again, which makes it even more annoying really, cos it's like her admitting "yeah maybe that was a stupid idea".
