Dan_Dare Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 orite punks. Got me some new HDD for my xbox but I need to transfer my junk over- gamercard, saves and games n all. Anyone got one of those fancy transfer cables lying around? I need to get my hands on one but, being a tight arse, I thought I'd see if I could borrow one off a lovely forumite for mere PnP. Also: how do they work? please tell me I don't have to run two xboxes at once or something.
Jimbob Posted December 18, 2010 Posted December 18, 2010 Funny really, i have a spare on lying around. You don't have to run 2 Xbox's. What you need to do is to make sure the new HDD is attached to the console first. Then plug the USB part into one of the 360 USB ports, and the bigger block part onto the old HDD. (if the console software is up-to-date, it will pop a message up automatically). Follow on-screen instructions and the data will be transferred. As you are keeping the old console, license transferring won't be an issue for you.
Dan_Dare Posted December 18, 2010 Author Posted December 18, 2010 Sweet. Any chance you could pop it in the post? Will compensate you when I send it back.
Jamba Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Dude, just use a USB key.... format it to 360 format. You can copy off of your save data and profile data onto there and copy it onto the new system. Last thing that you will need to do is transfer your licenses which you will have to do through the 360 website. http://www.xbox.com:80/en-US/Support/LicenseMigration/Home
