Image Software

Good evening N:E

 

I'm looking for some image creating software. I hear photoshop and GIMP are good programs, but i'd like some recommendations from you guys.

Photoshop and GIMP are two brilliant choices with the main difference being the pricetag, the latest version of one being £540 and the other being... free.

 

Paint.NET is another good choice.

 

If you tell us what you want to do, we can offer more reccomendations

Don't forget about Photoshop Elements, its quite a bit cheaper than regular Photoshop, and although it lacks features, when I used it I found it to work better than Gimp, but thats probably because I'm used to regular Photoshop.

There is quite a bit i really wish to achieve, some main elements i'm looking for include something a mate of mine has which is to merge two images keeping one image the same but merging say a face of another onto the first face making the two images into one.

 

I think its called Facemorphing or something, i do have the images he used but they are in work.

 

And other things include features to be able to create sigs, i don't really know how some of them are done but i think it includes merging or something as well.

Well, why not just give GIMP and Paint.NET a try? They're both free and fairly small programs

I've always been a fan of Paint Shop Pro but I rarely use too many advanced functions
