Eddage Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 I'm looking for some cheap speakers that I can use with my iPod at work. I used to have some PC speakers that could be powered by my iPod and so didn't need to be plugged into the mains, ideally this is what I'm after again. I've had a look on some sites but the all seem to need to plugged into a socket (which isn't really an option), so was hoping one of you lot might know of something! Cheers in advance.
Shorty Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 To find ones without ac adapters you're going to want to search specifically for portable speakers which brings up results like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logic3-i-Station-Traveller-Portable-Speakers/dp/B000MDUTJ2/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1241799913&sr=8-7 and this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logic3-i-Station-Traveller-Portable-Speakers/dp/B000MDUTJ2/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1241799913&sr=8-7 which are both powered by AAA batteries (the first one claims to last 24hr) Or if you want to go more expensive but awesome sound quality, I bought this which has amazing sound quality at higher volumes and a remote, and can run on 4xAA batteries or an adapter. Don't know of any that can be powered by the iPod though.
Charlie Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 It is possible to get self-powered speakers... But the ones I've seen sound awful, worse than laptop speakers. They're basically enlarged headphones...
