Is it possible to organize the songs and albums yourself? How? Itunes is making a mess. If I sort them by albums itunes put some of the albums in a seperate folder called "collection albums", Good Girl Gone Bad is one of them, but there is still a folder for Rihanna, but it's for some reason missing track nr 1. If I uncheck the box that makes it do that, songs that are ripped from the very same cd get divided into half a dozen seperate folders based on who sang along with the artist(like Rihanna and Jay Z on Umbrella) Itunes are also calling cds like Good Gone Girl Bad for "different artists"(my translation)

Select all the songs from the album, then with all of them highlighted, right-click on the bunch of songs, and click get info.

 

See the box which says "Album Artist" type the name in there.

 

And that should pile all the songs into the right album ^_^

I had the same issue a while back, it's horrible to see everything muddled up!

 

I spent an hour correcting song names/albums/artists and artwork the other day, my iTunes has never looked so pretty

Also sometimes you need to check or uncheck "compilation" in order to group mixed artist albums together etc.

I'm getting an ipod nano tomorrow, what's itunes like with already ripped albums on my hard drive or external hd? I've had a sony mp3 player up to now & always had problems with pre ripped music due to their fear over pirated music. I'd hate to unpack all my cd's & re rip them for itunes.

Any help/advice appreciated.

You can import MP3 files by dragging them into the iTunes window. Songs ripped from CDs will not have DRM.
