Esequiel Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Anyone have a N95 8gb? Could you tell me how the internet charges work, how much it is to use the maps and gps as a sat nav and also if you get charged for browsing the internet through it using your home wireless network? Cheers ^^
Charlie Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 Data charges change from network to network. Which network are you on?
Esequiel Posted August 6, 2008 Author Posted August 6, 2008 Orange dolphin 30 Any help appreciated :P There's supposed to be maps aswell that i can use like a sat nav thing for free?
Guest Jordan Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 As long as the N95 has map data (via maps or maps 2.0 downloadable from the "download!" section on your phone) then it never needs to go online to fetch map data. It'll just use the GPS protocol in your phone.
Esequiel Posted August 7, 2008 Author Posted August 7, 2008 Dont suppose i could be thick and ask for instructions >.> Im not good with phones
arab_freak Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Using your wireless home network (or any other WiFi hotspot, for that matter) is FREE. And since neither Vodafone, Mobinil, or Etisialat have good charging rates, I always use a nearby wifi connection to do my bidding. You can download maps for free via a Wifi connection. Just open the Maps application and connect using a WiFi hotspot. Btw, you only need to download map data ONCE via WiFi. Once it's done you can load it anytime you please without using any connections whatsoever.
