Shorty Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 Hey all I've had my PC a couple of years now and have twice in the last week recieved a message on startup saying my CPU temperature is abnormal. I checked the BIOS and the "Vcore" voltage is going up and down, occasionally dropping out of the white into a red '1.08'. I don't really know a lot about this, but I'm confused as to why the issue has arisen suddenly, I haven't noticed any other problems with the PC. Can anyone help me out with what this means, or what to do about it? Cheers,
Guest Jordan Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 Hm. As weird as this sounds, open your PC up, take off the heatsink/fan and remove the CPU. Make sure nothing is in between the pins and the board. If thats that not it, it might be that the motherboard isn't correctly regulating the voltage.
Caris Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 Your thermal paste could of burned in tooo much due to the hot weather.
DCK Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 The Vcore thing is kind of weird, as 1.08V is really low, but that means your CPU should generate less heat. Something wrong with the connectors I'd say.
