EEVILMURRAY Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 Recently, due to playing Hitman: Blood Money [since it only happens when playing it] I think my PC is overheating, it crashes but is still 'on'. The lights are on, the fan is going, but there's nothing on the screen and the light on the monitor starts flashing, meaning there's no input from the computer. Another thing I've been noticing when playing Blood Money is the 'lighting' on the screen starts changing when in certain areas. Which is making me think it's a graphics card issue... But I know fuck all about this. I've been meaning to upgrade my PC I think anyway, mainly the mother board since that's the only reason my PC is as large as it is.
Sanchez Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 You're right, your graphics card is overheating, as a temporary solution you could clean out some dust and clear cables to try and improve airflow, replace the heatsink and fans on the card or just upgrade as you said.
EEVILMURRAY Posted June 10, 2008 Author Posted June 10, 2008 Yeah I did the lovely brush raping of the insides last night, I probably didn't do that good a job because I didn't want to damage it. It wouldn't be hard to screw the heatsink of the graphics card would it?
Sanchez Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 Oh, when I said replace the heatsink I meant with something like this http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=707493 but a model for whatever card you have. I don't think removing parts of your graphics card is something you want to do on a regular basis.
