Jackster
Hey people, planning on replacing the Macbook soon. Right now the Dell m1330 is looking like a pretty ideal machine. Anyone got any experience with this laptop? Anyone seen it in real life? Is it really as pretty as it looks online? Also, if anyone has any suggestions for a different laptop with a 13.3" screen then I'd appreciate knowing your opinions. I really like the 13.3" form factor, 15.4" laptops always seem a bit too big but if anyone's got any suggestions for a bigger or smaller laptop I might check it out :-) Thanks in advanced, Jack EDIT: If you've not seen the m1330, this is it http://www.trustedreviews.com/notebooks/review/2007/10/11/Dell-XPS-M1330/p1
Caris
I've played with one in PC World, there nice. Not as nice as Macbooks in my opinion but still nice. Be careful with the hinges on them though, there terrible.
Sanchez
I'm about to order one today or tomorrow (yes I went for the M1330 after all that, decided i would be happier with something small enough but still fast enough to not frustrate me.) I've looked around and it's definitely the best 13.3" laptop. I had a look at the macbooks as well but their specs aren't very flexible so here I am. Jackster
Hows the build quality?
Sanchez
Excellent, it feels like i could throw it to the ground and it wouldn't damage at all. I couldn't find any creaky bits and even though the chassis is plastic, it feels a lot like metal and very solidly built.
Jackster
Ah I also meant to ask how do you find the size of the trackpad? I heard it was quite small?
Sanchez
Trackpad is small, yes, I turned up the sensetivity to make up for it and its usable.
