Apple_NdiB Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 I've just ordered a new set of speakers for my PC, I want to improve the sound quality of my games, but I don't listen to music on it. I've been looking at sound cards, and I was wondering how much of an improvement one of these offers over the on-board sound I'm using at the moment. Is it worth getting one, or will the new speakers be enough for the music and sfx I'm hoping to get the best out of? Merry Xmas, Duncan.
McPhee Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 Depends on the speakers really. On board sound has become really good and the cost of a dedicated sound card is wasted unless you have a set of speakers that can take advantage of it. It does remove load from the processor though

QFT Even if the onboard sounds are good, it just ain't a match to quality xfi card. think i just have the x-fi card, was around 30/40 quid but its awesome. You don't absolutely have to spend a bucket of money on it. Something like this?
