Petey Piranah Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Which is the better burning/ripping solution, Roxio 10 or Nero 8? I've seen extreme negative user opinion on Nero 7 and slightly more positive but still overall negative opinion on Roxio 9. I have Windows Vista Home Premium and Roxio 10 I believe is the first burning software to be officially certified for Vista so I am slightly leaning towards Roxio 10 more, but i'd appreciate any input from anyone as to which software solution is better as theres so much divided opinion, its making it difficult to make a decision.
thirtynine. Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 I use Ashampoo its pretty good. I hate Rixio and NEro Personally
Shorty Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 I think Nero is a great package as long as you stay away from Startsmart and just don't bother installing the media players. Nero Burning Rom does it all just fine IMO. And the DVD menu and cover creators, if that's your game, are great.
Petey Piranah Posted September 28, 2007 Author Posted September 28, 2007 Thanks for your recommendations. I guess i'll just get whatever I see on the day considering that I am going to go to a store instead of online to take advantage of a particular loyalty offer...
Mr_Odwin Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Personally I'd get neither. Use Imgburn (free) for burning data/isos/whatever. Use any of the many free dvd creating softwares to make dvd images (to burn with imgburn). Use Burrrn to create audio CDs. Interesting thread about this: http://forum.videohelp.com/topic337602.html

(Haven't been able to test them yet). DVD images? Sorry i'm pretty new to all this burning business...
Mr_Odwin Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 A dvd image like an iso, or a folder, which contains a valid dvd structure of AUDIO_TS, VIDEO_TS, etc.
Shorty Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Oh right, I didn't know you were going to buy them. Otherwise I would've suggested something free *whistles*
