Tom Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 I'm fairly sure I read somewhere that my phone (sony ericsson w850i) can be used for GPS, as long as you hook it up to a bluetooth GPS reciever. I know that the software can be 'acquired'. Google isn't helping me so I was wondering if any of you has any experience of using a phone (other than the n95 of course) for GPS.
Oli1983uk Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 Yeah I use a nokia 7710 for GPS navigation, It has tom tom loaded on it. Its ok but it eats battery life like there is no tomorrow. I would go for a normal GPS system over a phone version.
Tom Posted August 6, 2007 Author Posted August 6, 2007 I know it's not an ideal solution, but as far as i can tell it's much cheaper. Do you just install the software and connect the gps via bluetooth and you're off?

Tom Posted August 7, 2007 Author Posted August 7, 2007 that definitely changes things! You can get a gps for about £70 now. I think i'll just get one of those. Thanks.
