Wesley Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 Hey guys, I'm having an A Level exam on networking at the moment and was wondering if you guys could help me on this one little bit. It's a question about joining two or more networks together, and you have to take into consideration the following: Data Packeting Security Issues Compatibility I'm having trouble on what to write for the first and last, could anyone give me any hints? If no one knows then don't worry about it, lol. Cheers.
Charlie Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 Not sure about the first, but for compatibility you could probably mention compatibility issues with Windows and Macs, Wireless 802.11B and 802.11G. Windows 98 - 2000 - XP - Vista I know from experience Windows 98 is a bitch to network up properly with virtually any other computer.
Wesley Posted May 17, 2007 Author Posted May 17, 2007 Okay thanks man. The networking is like from Leeds to another city of VPN but I think I know what to write now. I never thought of mentioning OS though so thanks, .
Fuzpoy Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 you will need to mention hardware requirements for networking some issues you could talk about firewalls routers transfer medium protocols
Wesley Posted May 19, 2007 Author Posted May 19, 2007 Thanks, I finished my Networking exam yesterday. The whole 10 hours of it.
