Dan_Dare Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 anyone read much by this guy? He's a cyberpunk writer who, in his first novel, managed to invent cyberspace, the internet, reality tv and a whole slew of themes in sci fi ever since. he is clearly a massive G. so yeah, any fans?
KingJoe Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 Neuromancer is awesome. Haven't read anything else by him though.
Dan_Dare Posted April 2, 2007 Author Posted April 2, 2007 I've only read that and All Tomorrows Parties. Think I'll buy myself more of the sprawl trilogy though, the other two sound ace as cakes.
Daft Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 I keep meaning to read Neuromancer, my sister loves that book, but I always forget about it and am usually half way through something else!
Klimop Posted April 2, 2007 Posted April 2, 2007 No maps for these territories Movie about cyberthings, starring William Gibson, never seen it though
Dan_Dare Posted April 2, 2007 Author Posted April 2, 2007 I keep meaning to read Neuromancer, my sister loves that book, but I always forget about it and am usually half way through something else! you should make time for it. I just read through it in 3 days so it's not a hard book to get through and the language is utterly brilliant. All his similes and metaphors are based on technology etc and it just paints such a vivid expression of his world. Quality stuff.
