The Lillster Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 I'm with this guy. I've been playing Nintendo since the SNES, and i'm bored. It's not hard to see a patern again and again every generation.A lot of people will come up with some half baked excuse for Nintendo, but it's honestly how I feel about the way they're doing things. It's not enough to keep me interested any more. Not that I probably won't buy the next Mario, Zelda, Metroid and Wario Well the Playstation and Xbox brand is doing exactly the same thing. It's just that because Nintendo has been in the gaming industry the longest, their games are starting to fade sooner. Also buying third party games might help. (This isn't directly aimed at you btw).
Jasper Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 Hi, I hear a lot of people complaining about the lack of good wii games and that the only service will be like shit. I think that Nintendo is beeing quite right now is because they are working on good games which will offer great online play. They are not stupid. Pokemon, Super Smash bros , Metroid and it wouldnt surprise me that also Mario will have great online play. The reason why I say that Nintendo is taking online gaming very seriously is because of some facts. They are already online with the wii, you can read the news and download games. Now they are making good online games because they dont want it to suck. And come on when was the last time when Nintendo released a bad game ( except from Mario sunshine). They also have a contract with gamespy, which shows that nintendo are taking online gaming very seriously. Microsoft and sony are also online so in order to compete with them nintendo need online gaming, because they don't wanna lose core gamers. Nintendo will have the largest market share at the end of this year and then Nintendo will bring their good games. Do not forget that the wii already sold 6 million units and tehy are selling more then 1 million units each month. In this rate nintendo will have sold 15 millions of wii by the end of the year. The gamecube only sold 18 millions of units. Good times are coming for a Wii owner, so be patient. Oh yeah and I have to agry that wii games are little bit expensive. But I know some game stores which sell all wii games for a maximum of 50 euros. I live in the Netherlands and those game stores which i'm talking about are in The Netherlands, Belgium and France. So maybe only you guys in Great brittain are being srewed So whaat exactly is your problem? We are allowed to critiseze Nintendo for what it does and let's be honest: Nintendo isn't all to shabby online. DS Online could be so much easier - yet they stick to this system wich still sucks. Friend codes? Pah! I'm not really using it - but it's everything but handy. You don't even get a message saying someone added you. It's silly - people have been doing it for years with messenger and you can simply just block a contact if you want to. So why not? Mario Sunshine wasn't a bad game - Doshin the Giant,t aht was a bad game. Sunshine was good, jolly fun for me - and I prefer it over Mario 64, sorry guys - this is just a matter of taste. And Nintendo doesn't make bad games, but their service centre isn't to shabby. Now stop defending them about the quirkiest decisions made by Nintendo ever - they could have done better. And I don't see the need for another of these subjects.

Wii games arent expensive 2. £33 for a game is hardly that different to £35/£40, plus it depends on country economy, not just international.
Patch Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Well the Playstation and Xbox brand is doing exactly the same thing. It's just that because Nintendo has been in the gaming industry the longest, their games are starting to fade sooner. Totally agree. I think we as long-time players have been growing bored with games. From the first days of the NES era, we are still playing games with a controller that accepts button input. The main improvement over time has been graphics IMO. At the same time I reckon Nintendo staff also get bored of creating the same games over and over. This is why they always look at providing a different slant to each successive game, and in the case of the Wii, a totally new way of playing videogames. I've been playing games for 24 years and Nintendo's philosophy of innovation and quality is providing me with a much-needed variety that otherwise would have caused me to stop playing some time ago. Wow, I spun that out longer than I meant to.
