Owen Posted June 25, 2007 Posted June 25, 2007 I turned my stand-by mode thing off (orange light), as my wii was getting very warm.
... Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 I just bought a wireless router last week and I finally have my Wii online. In fact, I'm writing this post on it. But the thing is, I don't want the Wii connected on stand-by so in the settings i have wiiconnect24 on but the stand-by mode off. And i noticed that like this I can't use the weather or news channels, even when the console is on... which is stupid, IMO. I can use the internet channel (am using it right now) so why not those others? They should address this in some future update, don't know why they haven't already.
flameboy Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 I turned it off cos I am sick of getting messages at stupid times in the morning that wake me, which are only from annoying wii friends asking if I want to play a game, they clearly don't have a job and have to wake for anything in the morning.
david.dakota Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 My Wi has been online for months at a time, with no problem. Yes, it does feel warm to the touch in active standby, but no serious complaints. Fingers crossed it stays that way... I suppose if your Wii has plenty of air on the right side (when vertical) that should be fine... a horizontal placing won't have the same air getting though. It wouldn't do it much harm to kick the fan on every couple of hours though.
Tellyn Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Mine's been online pretty much constantly since launch.
