Cube Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 OK, I'm currently cleaning up my Harddrive on my laptop, TreeSize is very helpful for that, and now I've found out that Google Desktop is using up 2.3GB of space. (in Application Data - Google - Google Desktop). Should it use this much space, and how can I reduce it? Thanks in advance.
Shorty Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 Google (the search engine, that is) suggests that although it requires 500mb to install, it should only be using 1-200 :/ maybe you messed something up with cache options and it's storing everything you look at? How much do you use it? These days having a google bar in Firefox is enough for me, perhaps you should just get rid of it? Or try reinstalling it or restoring default settings if its playing up.
Cube Posted January 11, 2007 Author Posted January 11, 2007 I haven't actually used it in over a month, tbh. And when I clean up my HDD, I won't really need it as much anyway (most stuff will be located externally, so won't even be searchable by GD...I think). I think removing it is the best thing to do.
