  1. Resident Evil Revelations 3DS

I see we passed the test this time Good to hear! I like the sound of his comment about them maybe moving back more towards classic RE style. RE:R was what I wanted to see, now I want them to move further in that direction and make it more non linear (basically move as far away from RE6 as possible!)
  2. Xenoblade Chronicles Official Thread

I wasn't joking when I said that it is the best traditional JRPG since Chrono Trigger! Glad to see you guys are enjoying it too! And you've still seen nothing yet (Yes, it manages to get even better from there on! It doesn't fizzle out like so many other promising RPGs do) BTW @Red Shell Just a word of warning. After you complete the next area after the one you're currently at, there's a point of no return that stops you from completing any quests in Sword Valley and Galahad Fortress (they'll disappear forever). If you care about completing all the quests (I didn't, but you may do), you might want to do them ASAP. If not, then keep calm and carry on.
  3. The Last Story Official Topic

Chapter 20 is just so WTF?! that it's awesome.
  4. Pokémon Black & White

Pokemon fusion? (Celebi's head, Kirlia's body - Celebi's eye colour swapped with Kirlia's body colour?)
  5. PlayStation Vita Console Discussion

I think you guys are being a bit harsh on the Rear Touch pad. Yeah, it (like most of the Vita's novel control inputs) isn't being utilised in any significant way yet, but the potential is there. AFAIC, it's the key differentiator between the 3DS and Vita and the biggest opportunity for unique types of games to be made on the Vita. It just depends on whether or not anyone is creative and brave enough to take the plunge with a unique game designed from the ground up for the Vita (Given Sony's typical throwaway support for handhelds, being either B team games or console ports and the lack of 3rd party support, it might take a while though...) In terms of the Vita's extremities being cutting edge, maybe not (we do have Super AMOLED screens on phones now), but the analog stick design is unique (regardless of whether or not you prefer the 3DS Circle Pad design) and multitouch trackpads aren't commonplace (and certainly not on handheld devices) so it's perfectly fair to cite them as being ahead of the curve. Edit: Oh hey guys, Sony are doing a Nintendo Sony Direct video on March 9th http://andriasang.com/con05a/vita_heaven/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter Supposedly the video "will include information about unannounced Vita titles, upcoming releases, and Vita services, as well as new information about in-release titles. The broadcast will feature presentations from game creators themselves." (Yes it's all very familiar. Of course, looking at how good Nintendo's one was, here's hoping for good things!)
  6. Pokémon Black & White

She looks like a black & green Celebi that has been changed from SD to Chibi and with added long hair...
  7. 3DS Console Discussion

Yeah, I'd have to concur. There's no need for a redesign at this point (and unlike the original DS & GBA when they first came out, they can't make the 3DS any smaller!)
  8. 3DS eShop Thread

No surprise about the NES VC pricing. It's exactly the same price as the NES VC games on Wii. Just sucks that they don't even offer a discount for those who already own the Wii VC counterpart (giving it away for free is probably unrealistic, given that they have to code an emulator for each individual game)
  9. GAME Group what next?

No EA games at all?! Yeah, they're fucked. No way they're surviving now. Been watching this happen for a while, man the UK VG highstreet situation is grim. It's HMV or nothing now! (who knows how long they'll last as well). How ironic that the UK retail game market will have to survive off of online retailers! (what with the industry's shift towards digital distribution) Edit: They're not stocking Mario Party 9 either?! (and presumably no Nintendo published game at all of Tekken 3DS and The Last Story are anything to go by) Yeah, 2-3 months tops.
  10. Nintendo Network is the replacement for Nintendo Wifi Connection (online play) and has nothing to do with the eShop. Yes it sucks that they're not allowing cross platform purchases since everyone else does it. I can see why they might not want to do it though because of the way they do VC emulation compared to other platforms (a unique emulator is coded for each game, meaning that significant emulation work is put into each invividual release. The added QA and dev costs for each game might discourage them from doing this). Still, they should at least offer a discount for people who already own the Wii VC version. That should be easily doable and is still fair compensation for the dev work that goes into the 3DS VC version!
  11. 3DS eShop Thread

Woah! HOLY SHIT! The VC really IS back from the dead! Good God! It's... SO BEAUTIFUL! Why the hell can't we have this EVERY month!? I was wondering why this week's release list was late, I'm not complaining now! NOE: Please make this a regular thing, I remember the good times when the VC wasn't dead. Let's keep this going please! Please NOA, follow in their footsteps. My US Wii NEEDS more VC games!
  12. Woah, holy shit they weren't kidding! The VC really IS back from the dead! 13. Pokemon Black & White 2

That's a very impressive localisation turnabout time! @_@ Even given the worst case scenario (End of November), we've still be looking at a series record of just 4 months after the JPN release! Not bad at all!
  14. 3DS StreetPass Plaza

Yeah, I just got the Spotpass notification out of nowhere! Talk about a nice surprise! Which one did you guys get? I got Kid Icarus Uprising!
  15. Pokemon Black & White 2

Yeah they would do. GameFreak are a 2 game dev team and usually develop 2 games at the same time.
  16. Pokemon Black & White 2

That's probably the least surprising announcement I could possibly imagine! Hey, if that means that they're keeping the DS alive for a bit longer, maybe there's still a chance that the Fire Emblem 3 DS remake could still get an English release after all! (hell Sacred Stones and Path of Radiance both came out in the same year!) Ok, back on topic!
  17. Pokemon Black & White 2

How long have you known about this for? Either way, I think I did pretty good for a pure guess! (I didn't have to cheat! ) Hey, maybe this explains why they didn't do much with the Triple & Rotation battles in B&W? They were saving it for the sequel!
  18. Pokemon Black & White 2

The western versions of B&W were region free despite being DSi enhanced games (yes they're the only DSi games that are not region locked) But are they grey rainclouds?
  19. Pokemon Black & White 2

What the shit?! That old rumour was real?! Hey! I was kind of right. I DID say it would be a DSi game rather than a 3DS game (and I did sort of guess the release date period right too! )
  20. Pokémon Black & White

Wait for it... WAIT FOR IT...
  21. The Last Story Official Topic

Well I'm up to chapter 10 and here are my thoughts so far. I don't really find myself caring about the story or the characters at all (though I do like Syrenne. God bless her drunken, unwashed soul ), but the set pieces are interesting enough to provide motivation to carry on. The battle system really is the meat and potatoes of this game and I'm enjoying the game enough so far, but I do have to say that the game is far too easy for its own good. Having the Lives seems like a huge mistake to me as it's almost impossible to die! I'm looking forward to getting stuck into the online mode because there's a lot of depth to the battle system that isn't really being explored in the game itself, outside of boss battles (though again, they're far too easy) For those wondering, there's basically no exploration at all (thus far anyway). It's ultra linear, but it has provided enough variety in gameplay to keep things interesting so far (the Shenmue 2 style chase sequence in particular was fun!) As far as the visuals go, I actually expected a lot more slowdown based of of everyone's comments. It's not that bad at all! (yeah there's a bit of slowdown here and there, but it's not too bad. Much closer to say MGS3 than Perfect Dark!) Edit: Ok just got to the forest chapter and the framerate was pretty shittastic but it was not too bad before then Visuals are pretty stunning in places, with globs of effects that you wouldn't think possible on Wii (GODRAYS!, THAT LIGHTING!) though it has that same weird effect as in RE Mercenaries 3D where NPCs in the distance lose frames of animation. It's a bit uneven, but when it shines it's one of the Wii's very best looking games and could easily be mistaken for a PS360 title (it's just a shame that those various issues drag it down) I'm not overly impressed with the soundtrack so far (save for a couple of tunes, particularly the online lobby music!) but the localisation is excellent. British as fuck and fits the game perfectly! It's an interesting take on the RPG that is the polar opposite of Xenoblade in many respects. While it doesn't come close to that masterpiece of a game, it's still one of the most enjoyable JRPGs I've played this gen so far (though I suppose that's not saying a lot in the grand scheme of things). Either way, much better than Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssee so far - despite its flaws.

OMG LOL! The multiplayer lets you select any piece of dialogue from the game as a message (and I do mean ANY piece of dialogue!) You can even have your character speak someone else's dialogue! The amount of hilarious exchanges this will cause! I have Zael's opening dialogue as "mmmm, What a lovely smell". Yep, I'm gonna enjoy this
  23. 3DS eShop Thread

Err, you do know that you can just pay the outstanding amount right? All you have to do is press Purchase Software, select Add Funds when it tells you to and select Required Amount Only. There! No more pesky pennies left over!
  24. Letterbox

Heh, I didn't even know you added me! I sent some Mon Hun stationary to make up for it!
  25. 3DS eShop Thread

Haha! Looks like I unjinxed it I'm really enjoying it so far (and I hate Tower Defence games!), I posted my impressions (after beating the first stage) in the Rolling Western topic http://www.n-europeforums.com/showthread.php?p=1427748#post1427748
