Yeah Extreme G was cool. Akira-style motorcycles do it for me anytime Extreme G-2, that one I loved. Too bad I didn't have the social life back then (when I was 10) that I have now: the multiplayer seemed like a whole lotta fun.
  2. Sweetness guys, thanks a lot! Ah, so we are akin! Long live insomnia!
  3. Interview up on IGN too. Excerpt which has gotten me w00t: Sighs of relief and excitement.
  4. Mmmm... 7290 damage... *homer drool* Without bothering to look it up, will the game feature local multiplayer? By the way, aren't you the early bird Pedro!
  5. I keep on finding these discussions for and against the Wii, and I keep on sniggering at them. The way I see it, trying to constrain bias to a minimum, is this: - The Wii is underpowered. - Some developers actually listen to what their audience are saying (cue Okami Wii announcement) - Devs and Prods can make (and have been making) money off of it with minimal effort (I'm looking at you, Carnival Games) - Nonetheless, the argument that mature titles cannot fare well on the console is disproven by (the sales figures of) RE4, RE:UC, Mortal Kombat Wii (which apparently did quite well), MP3, and No More Heroes (which isn't doing all that bad, from what I gather), and most likely even Red Steel and CoD3 - Therefore, it seems illogical to me to think that companies have no incentives to venture into the development of mature titles, such as the above; eg, The Conduit, Alone in the Dark - In conclusion, there is no reason why developers shouldn't maximise the Wii's capabilities

Looks rather nice indeed. Anyone know whether you can upgrade your car btw? I've been looking all over for some kind of info, but cannae find any! Reason I ask: I want this game to fill the shoes of N64's Episode One: Pod Racer. Which I thought kicked ass.
  7. Looking pretty sweet indeed. One thing that had me bugged though: no dynamic fire in the Wii version. From what I understood, you will be able to let things catch fire from moving those things into already present fire, but you cannot set things on fire, for example by using a deodorant/lighter combo. Moreover, no moving a burning chair carefully from left to right, as seen in the, what he calls, "versions next-gens." Bit bugger, but hell if I care if the core gameplay and atmosphere are still present. Which appears to be so.
  8. I know what you're saying, and I agree (a fun game is a fun game). But you do see that when it comes to games featuring content that doesn't specifically cater to every gamer's needs, the Wii is falling behind the N64 as of now.
  9. Who doesn't? I find it mind-numbingly stupifying that the N64 had more "mature" content than the Wii, even though the ol' 64 wastn't the rave the Wii turned out to be... It's been a slow year, if you ask me... On a side note: anyone remember how when EA acquired Bioware and Pandemic, there was some mention of the latter devoting time to the Wii? Anyone? Going once? Twice?
  10. Sweetness... I was longing for these kinds of sudden announcements from out of the blue!
  11. Nintendo Media Summit?

Thanks to the people who have signed already. Could we, in some way, advertise this petition? Or create one that formulates our quarrel with the situation more aptly?

Started a petition. Counting on everyone to sign it. Hope that it will rise to the petition-expectations set by the Okami one. http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/onlinerockbandwii/index.html
  14. If they would actually give a shit (about us) they would let us go our way with imported games. Now I don't dare buying a Freeloader anymore, even though No More Heroes NTSC is tempting me with its gory goodness...

    Amen to that!

Is the experience similar to that with the sixxaxis? Because I played CoD4 on the PS3, and found it to be utter shite. Even my mate, who's apparently a "general four stars" in the game's mp, lacked the precision I had come to expect in an FPS.

That's where we differ I, for one, find controllig shooters with an analogue pad absolute shite. PD was the only one who did it right, because you could just headshot very easily (tad bit up on the C-pad and you're there). Moreover, given the evolutions Nintendo has been empowering in their online-field, I believe that it won't take that long before the Wii's online interface and support will pick up to their competitors' standard. Of course, the latter is quite dependant on key developer support (which, at the moment, is fairly poor).

    Wii FPS

I'm pretty sure there are people who'd prefer the 360 version because of stuffs like achievements and all, but right here, for the dude who's typing, the prospect of seeing ex-GoldenEye/PD crew having a go at the Wii's interface equals instant win. If EA can pull it off better than Retro, why shouldn't FR?
  19. Looking pretty sweet. Although I doubt those are (all) ingame shots?
  20. Probably at the point where they thought "hey, if we can make money off of Ninjabread Man, why couldn't we do the same off of stuff that would actually be decent if we put a tad more work into it?" Or something.
  21. Didn't find an already existing thread, so, here goes. Third person action-RPG. Appears to be utter crap (IGN review of the PC version: 1.2), although the screenies do seem to look better than their PC counterparts. Find it here: http://gonintendo.com/?p=38112#more-38112

I thought Geist was pretty cool. The game had its fair share of issues, but from the time I played it (an hour or so at a convention), I concluded that it kicked butt.

TS4 would indeed be the multiplayer king of the hill. Story-wise though, I've never really adored its satirical approach as much as I loved Perfect Dark or Deus Ex's fascinating plot. On topic of the latter, what are the odds of Deus Ex 3 appearing on Wii?

    Wii FPS

With the Wii going into its second year as the market leader, how will that fact influence the possibility of seeing an increased number of top class FPS-series hitting the console? Or, because of the supposed demographic backing the Wii, will nothing change for the better? Personally, as I've stated a lot before, the Wii is in dire need of a competion-beating shooter. The equivalent of the 64's Perfect Dark, with such plethora of options, and added online. Your thoughts.
  25. Tim Burton alone will do quite nicely for me. Has anyone heard a bit of the soundtrack? Sounds a whole lot like Danny Elfman to me - which is naught but a good thing ^^
