Eurogamer also suggested that there is a pro controller only option.
So motion controls aren't mandatory and perhaps the NX won't have a second screen.
Toms impressions here

What are your games of E3 so far then?
For me, it has to be Bound. The animation and lighting is drop-dead gorgeous.
Spiderman and Sea of Thieves. Shame you have to have two systems to buy them both.
-
That does look brilliant. White spider symbol though?
-
New 3DS only though I think.
-
Hmm. Not really seeing the appeal of this either.
The IGN and Eurogamer reviews were not exactly glowing either - a good concept but a bit shallow.
From eurogamers review:
If you want a slice of exquisite half-decade old design, Severed will more than fit the bill. Just don't expect it to cut much deeper than that. -
I think climbing has the potential to be quite fun in conjunction with the (double?) hookshot and swinging rope items from previous games.
Plus, the Zelda games have always used steep cliffs as boundaries for the edges of the game world. To be able to scale and climb over those boundaries will be interesting from a gameplay point of view and from a technical point of view to see what replaces them as the boundary of the world. Sea?

I can't connect the Wii U to the TV, so I am using gamepad to play the games.
This cable for the Wii would connect your Wii U to an SD tv:

I use the same to connect to an SD-only projector.

I wonder how different it would be now?

I am playing classic/hard as I did with awakening and I also have found it much harder than awakening. I think there are two main reasons for this:
* Stat updates on level up seem much more unlikely compared with awakening.
* The enemies can double team you. (Which was frankly OP in awakening)
P.S. @S\.C\.G - get to it.

So basically it's best to get them straight away? What if you want them to inherit specific skills?
In that case I think you have to wait to get the correct parents, I suppose.
If the paralogue is already open though, you have already committed to their skills and so you might as well play it immediately.
There seems to be a way to 'buy' skills from the castle (and you can get a discount if you scan the internet and fight another persons castle).
On Ryoma's child one you can fly and use rescue, but that still puts your stave user in harms way, where it is very difficult to get others into the fight. If you are playing on classic and you leave the level too late (such that the child cannot survive more than one turn) then getting him and preventing anyone else from dying can be very tricky.

Bump!
Getting to the end of Birthright now, but I have played a bit of revelations to help out my daughter.
Made me realise the answer to your question @S\.C\.G - started playing yet? :p

Some people on reddit were suggesting that if you built up enough levels earlier in the game (possibly with grinding the scouting option) then you could actually beat Xander and Garon on this level - although not in a game changing way. I killed everyone else except Xander and Garon. Interestingly on normal Xander does not move, but on hard he does. I kept having to bait him in one direction with a flying character and then switch him back to the other by moving out of range.
Also, this is a bit cheap:
The fact that if you don't have an A ranking between Corrin and Kaze that he dies at the end of the level in a cut scene. I happened to notice this when looking up something unrelated so managed to save him in mine.

Glad it arrived safely! I also urge you to play and complete all three games (starting with Birthright).
Once I have started with these it is pretty much impossible to stop!
-
+1 for @S\.C\.G
A pleasure to talk to and helped me navigate my first sale over the internet!

Mine came yesterday. I have only played for a hour or so, but it seems like a very highly polished game.
It going to be a struggle for us though as both my Wife and Daughter want to play as well.
-
It made me feel like it might be a (CG) cartoon. I did not get the sound though - so that might have added to the feels.
-
I think I am intending to start with Birthright because it might be more difficult to go back to having played the more complex Conquest/Revelations.
James Jones from Radio Free Nintendo started on Birthright though and and was a bit put off by how easy it was. It may have even put him off trying the others.
I don't think I could be put off a Fire Emblem game though, so that is not a problem.

I got that deal but there is a hidden downside - the full battery does make the gamepad much heavier. For an already heavy device it is a bit of an issue. It means I would much rather play with the light as a feather pro controller instead.

Got my shipping email for the special edition from the Nintendo UK store.
Apologies to anyone that missed out.

Six is definitely my favourite. Kefka is a psychopath rather than an idiot surely? Although I admit it is also a long time since I played it.

15th July with its own special edition New 3DS:
-
What is the online like in that? Anyone know if it is any good?

I was a big fan in the days of the Bends and Ok Computer but not so much since.
I tried listening to some of the songs from the new album and they did not immediately grab me. Having done that I went back and listened to come others from Kid A and Hail to the Thief and enjoyed them a lot, which I had not previously liked.
What are the best songs on the new album in you opinion?
-
That video does look good - why not just release it.
No other cars on the track I suppose.
