I can already see it coming. A stampede of whining throughout the internet about the over abundence of "flat" single platform stages in Brawl (including todays announced stage).
Posts along these lines: "Oh look, another flat stage, this game ain't gonna live up 2 its predecessors, prepare to be disappointed!"
Well I would not like to think of it as whining, but there do seem to be a few 'flying platform' levels that seem to lack a bit of imagination. Lylat cruise is a sensible one but both Delfino Plaza and now this one seem to just have flying platforms 'stitched' onto the front of levels.
In the original game Poke Floats and Big Blue (was it?) are examples of more interesting moving levels I think.
Still psyched for the game though. Even these stages are probably a laugh in ways that the screenshots cannot convey.

Is it Bubsy the Bobcat?

Matt thinks that the box art is not 'real' in the Wiik in review.
He says Nintendo claim they have not released official box art.

Hey pedro, thanks for summarising these things.
For some reason can never actually get the thing to download anymore.

Number 1 is Saboteur
Is number 3 Last Ninja?
-
Thunder force 3 I think.
-
This is a brilliant update - three new characters for the price of one.
Plus, you could decide your favourite and not use him for the whole match, only bringing him out for when you are 'mad'.

Adventures of Lolo on the NES?

Interestingly it seems as if Ike might be considered a 'heavy character'. I would have considered Roy and Marth medium in size and speed.
Ike's specials seem cool though.

Number 2 is Blast Corps.
Time to get moving. :-)

SSBB needs more girls like this;
Agreed. I think Titania having her horse would be a pretty cool gameplay idea. Could work like Wario's bike. Also I would love to see an axe based character in SSBB.

I think I am defnitely going to get it.
The propect of a daily play might actually cause me to do some exercise.
-
Well no not really, unless you play the game at a snails pace.
I'm liking today's update. Looks like it's generating some hype on the net
Surely even for people who played at a really quick speed as long as the two people were equally quick the shield would become useful again?

Is it:
Repton?
Repton 3?
Granny's Garden?
-
Well the Yoshi Stage is bigger than it looks; it looks like the AC stage, but it's much bigger.
It's unfortunate that they made a cool level so small, i't like to see it be a bit bigger and more interesting.
That is a good point but it seems to me a bit more like the original yoshi stage (with the clouds and such) by no means small and a great stage but nothing like the zelda stage in its zoomed out, errr, glory.

There probably will be 1-2 levels like that, don't worry.
Remember, it's a fighting game, and you can't really fight properly on those types of levels, so expect a few more levels similar to ones we've seen.
I think you can fight on those levels - perhaps two player is a bit limited but in a four player match you could get two different fights in different locations.
Plus, I loved the character rebounding at the lower stages of the level.
I would also include the two Earthbound/Mother stages in this category mind you.
Here's hoping that the Fire Emblem level will be like this.

Having seen the weekly updates I am getting slightly worried about the lack of a level the size of the Zelda castle in SSBM. Anyone else?
Eldin bridge does look cool in the video though and Smashville will be welcome for sheer novelty value, but I want a level you can have a proper chase around.

Hmmm.
It is not like they have overrated Monkey ball (I hope!) though is it?
I doubt they will have to adjust 84% down.
I think it is a bit hasty to assume that Red Steel has been over-hyped.
It is possible after all that it will just be a very good game.

I think that despite the fact that 50% is supposed to be average, very few magazines (even EDGE really) actually have 50% as average. NGamers recent policy of being a bit more stingy with scores I suppose is trying to redress the balance somewhat.
Whether 50% is average though is somehwat of a moot point. I have played other games that NGamer have rated at 84% and from that I had hoped that Super Monkey Ball would be better. The original game was one of my favourites from the Gamecube and I was hoping for a very good game.
Actually I don't think that 84% is a terrible score but considering I would not buy a game that got less than 70%, it is below average.

I don't think that the controls I mentioned above would be gimmicky, they would add something that in my opinion is lacking from the game - fine tuned controls over the CPU AI on your team.
-
I think the game has the potential to be the dfinitive version on the Wii.
I could quite happily lose all of the throw-in and kicking gesture based rubbish but the pointer could make all of the difference.
The thing I get most frustrated with in the game (on any version) is the lack of control you have over where the computer players run to when you want to play a pass. I would like to be able to use the pointer to select a location I want the player I am about to pass to to attempt to reach. Then, when I pass the ball it would be my fault if I get tackled. In short I think the pointer could be used to make up for deficiencies in the AI of the game.

I was under the impression that the announcement Matt was referring to was the TGS one about the controller - he just din't know when it would happen.
Also: Nintendo have released an underpowered console (sort of) - the DS. I know that it was not supposed to directly compete for the same markert as the PSP but that is what Nintendo want for the Revolution anyway.

How about Powerstone?
Seriously though, I agree that we have been spoilt a bit by the quality of the stages in melee and as a person who likes the crazy stages, the stages you mention are indeed welcome. Here's hoping for some some interesting as yet unrevealed ones. (After all we only know about 16).
