  1. How to get you hyped again?

You cannot be serious! Sony was dumb releasing PS3 at GBP 650 (launch price in Norway), and losing vast amount of money on it! And now they have serious financial problems. Microsoft was a bit smarter, and Xbox 360 was earlier and cheaper, at GBP 400 (launch price in Norway), and still today runs multiplatform titles better than PS3. I do not know if Microsoft lost money on it the first year or so. And now you expect Nintendo to take a loss Sony-style to be able to 'please people'? I am pleased with the current price, even when we in Norway have to pay a lot more than the rest of Europe (Wii U Premium Pack: NOK 3199 / GBP 340).
  2. Need For Speed Most Wanted U

I cannot properly describe how concerned I am about how car racing games will be controlled on the Wii U without analogue shoulder buttons. I use a Logitech G27 on my PS3, but the majority use the standard controller. (But, I do not concider these kinds of games proper car racing. They are... something else. Not sure what. Burnout Paradise was easier to control with the DualShock 3 than the G27.)
  3. Nintendo Direct 25th October...TODAY!

Really? For all new 3DS software?
  4. PlayStation 3 Console Discussion

It finally worked. But it only worked when starting downloads through "Account Management" > "Transaction Management" > "Download List". So why is there a "View Downloads"/"My Downloads" in the PlayStation Store when downloads started from there does not always work? That is just stupidity on Sony's part.
  5. PlayStation 3 Console Discussion

I searched for Little Big Planet, and downloaded not through 'download history'. But the game's in-store page showed the 'purchased'-icon, so I was able to download. Infamous were nowhere to be found in the store! Really! I just found its sequels, and a bundle with all three games. I searched, using the new store's instant search, of course, wrote INF, and all but the original Infamous was listed. So I had to find it manually in the download history! That took way too long time for my taste. So, one game downloaded through its store page, one through download history. Neither work, both giving the same message, without any error code. I do not have PS+. I will try see if they have a phone number here in Norway.
  6. PlayStation 3 Console Discussion

Now I have completed the PS3 system transfer. I deleted some games and demos, because I was worried it would take a whole day if I transferred all 80 GB. So I only transferred around 40 GB, and was amazed it only took one and a half hour. Everything seems to have been transferred or copied. The purchased downloaded games all works after I activated the new console in 'System Activation', the friends are there, all the messages, themes, and most of the console settings. But, one big problem. Of the 40 GB I deleted before transferring, was two free games I chose after last year's PSN outage, Infamous and Little Big Planet. I redownloaded them, and tried to install them, only to see the message: "You can use this content on a PSP system. Do you want to copy it to a PSP system?" This is unsettling. What do I do now?
  7. 007 Legends

I see. I guess Nintendo helping out, in the end gained both parties. I hope they both earned more money because of it. Ooo, yes! If Eurocom is a good developer constrained by publishers, Nintendo should come in and save them! Let them blossom!
  8. 007 Legends

Sorry, I was ambiguous. I know of the game, both versions. But how is it possible Reloaded is actually worse? The PS3 version should play the same with Move. ...And here is the explanation. Really? Stealth sections removed? How wise! It seems not as much GoldenEye Reloaded as GoldenEye Retarded then?
  9. 007 Legends

Yes, Nightfire! It was Nightfire. I never tried EON. (See what I did there?) The World is not Enough? But the film was so... boring, lackluster. I just never bothered looking at the Bond games sharing title with a film I did not enjoy to a certain degree. Eh, what? Why? How? So it seems I actually missed out on a few good Bond games then. I will take a look at the next in line, probably in a couple of years time. I guess it is a possibility it could turn out good.
  10. ABXY

Maybe "CD", when pronounced by a Japanese in English, is phonetically equal or close to an offensive or tabooed Japanese word?
  11. Tekken Tag Tournament 2

Well, well. My memory deceives me. Now I can no longer trust anything I remember from the 90's. Great!
  12. 007 Legends

Sounds like yet another 007 game that should never have been published. After GoldenEye, I only ever played parts of two Bond games. My brother bought a game for the GameCube, was it "Agent Under Fire" maybe? And I played another one named something with "fire", also on the GameCube, I believe. After those two, which never caught my interest enough to play more than three to five hours, I gave up Bond games. I honestly believe I never again will be able to play a proper Bond game.
  13. Iwata Asks: Wii U

I agree. I have worried about the lack of analogue shoulder buttons since I first saw images of the ScreenPad last June. If it is about the ScreenPad's weight, they should have removed something else instead. I do not know what, but anything to keep the analogue shoulder buttons.
  14. I never bought the first release, because many people wrote about the mandatory patches taking a day to download and install. Even if that is exxagerated, I dislike the direction game development has taken, using early customers as game-bug-testers. So I was turned off the game. After a few months, I read more about the game, because I was a bit curious despite the criticism. Then I read about the absense of car damage, and I thought "how can anyone call a car racing game 'realistic' if crashes do not affect car handling". Now my answer is: Has the game been fixed now, twenty-two months after release? Does the Gran Turismo 5: Academy Edition contain all updates on the BD? I simply will not buy unfinished games, I will not throw my money at lazy developers. I vote with my wallet. I am interested in Gran Turismo 5, but it has to be a finished product before I buy.
  15. Gran Turismo 5: Academy Edition

Thank you! I have Logitech G27, and have used it for Dirt, Dirt 2, and Dirt 3. I think I will buy this in the coming months, whenever a window plentiful of time opens up.
  16. What launch games will you be picking?

My launch day games: Nintendo Land (packed with Premium Pack) New Super Mario Bros U Games I will purchase on day of their release: Pikmin 3 Rayman Legends Games I am curious about: Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed Lego City Undercover
  17. 007 Legends

If I had any expectations, they would now skyfall.
  18. PlayStation 3 Console Discussion

I used it for a few days, but that was several months ago. I had similar problems, PS3MS failing to find all folders and files. I was not persistent when trying to solve the problems, because I could never get sufficient bandwidth through my WiFi router, so I gave up PS3MS.
  19. Questions

'Thanks'! There were many good first-impressions on Wii U.
  20. Questions

I had a "thanks"-button until yesterday. Where has it gone?
  21. Worms Revolution released yesterday, October 10th. The game has been advertised as a new but familiar Worms game, with completely new strategic elements and features. Because of this, I have been eagerly waiting for several months. Tuesday evening, the day before release, I pre-ordered the PS3 version. I started playing that night. I never buy games on release day or shortly after, because they rarely are properly fixed and finished until a few months past their release date, unless it is a Nintendo game, because they seldom have severe errors in their games. This time, the bonus of getting Worms Crazy Golf for free when pre-ordering, along with reading positive reviews, convinced me that it was worth NOK 99 (£10.8, €13.4). How I should have followed my well established policies! I have played the single player campaign for a handful of hours, and my experiences are listed below. Problems with the game, listed in order of severity, from severe and joy-removing to distracting and irritating: The game lags when the 'camera' moves, every time; it looks like the frame rate at times decreases as low as 10 fps. The AI worms can 'think' for 10 to 30 seconds, just to skip the turn. Horizontal rendering resolution looks like around 500 lines (except HUD), just too low to be on PS3. The textures are very poor when in medium to close view. Edges in environment are very jagged. I am not exaggerating! Please believe me! To compare, I will use Donkey Kong Country Returns as an example. While I adore that game, it could of course have looked sharper in HD. So how does Worms Revolution compare? Donkey Kong Country Returns' pixel resolution looks higher than that of Worms Revolution! Donkey Kong Country Returns' textures looks better than those in Worms Revolution! Donkey Kong Country Returns' environments are smoother and less jagged than those in Worms Revolution! Donkey Kong Country Returns' frame rate looks like it runs twice that of Worms Revolution, and I cannot remember seeing DKCR's frame rate ever slowing down! Imagine that! A game on Wii beating a 'HD' game on a HD console on every account with regards to visual presentation and performance. Worms Revolution is fun, but there just are too many problems! I should have waited, as usual, and evaluated the game after reading more reviews and gamers' arguments a few months from now. How is it possible to fail so badly? Maybe it can be fixed by Team 17. But will they? Maybe it is to severe to be fixed via a patch. Time will show, but I am baffled they released this wreck of a game! Reviews I read, heard and watched before I purchased the game; all positive: http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/10/03/worms-revolution-review http://www.nowgamer.com/xbox-360/xbox-live-reviews/1624445/worms_revolution_review.html The review I should have read: http://www.gamerevolution.com/review/worms-revolution A question related to the positive reviews above, and also a problem with many other reviewers: Why are many game journalists so extremely afraid to be critical? Have they no pride in their work at all?
  22. Tekken Tag Tournament 2

I have not played Tekken since playing the first game on PS when visiting a friend. I remember it to have only human characters, albeit with extremely exaggerated body size, strength, and with supernatural powers. Maybe I remember it wrong.
  23. What launch games will you be picking?

I did not know piracy is that wide spread. Is that the sole reason we only see news on release dates and sales numbers for gaming hardware and games in Japan, North America, and Europe + Australasia?
