  1. Aye! That seems to be the first rule of mafia design - the things you plan will rarely happen - so I filled the game with mechanics so at least a few would trip. Jimmy & Bunk met up (even though Kima & Bubbles could have met up, as well as Hauk and Carver) and mafia never attacked ReZ, so Omar didn't convert into a vigilante.

  7. Marc's role worried me a lot - he was the right person for the role, and I knew he'd play it in the spirit of the game, but it was very...breakable? There were a couple that weren't very robust. But my goal with that was to create that alignment turmoil he has in the show - he wants to be town, he is town really, but he looks mafia, and town treats him as mafia. Even the mafia know deep down he isn't really mafia, even though he works for them.
  8. The equation would have been fairer if I added a * town_players/mafia_players, so that the income balanced based on how the game was going.
  9. I really liked your idea with the PMs, made me think I should have had someone who snooped the player->GM PM. I only had the return PM snooped.
  10. I used random.org to decide the alignments, and I switched one or two after the fact to match play styles, but mostly that's what got spat out of the random generator

That would make sense to do considering the information you had available to you. He tried to kill Jonnas twice. It would have been optimal for Jonnas not to vote for him either. Jon Dedede and Jay were the only ones to benefit from that 6 vote lynch.

Oh yeah, here's the post that explained how the mafia worked: Play Or Get Played Mafia income is calculated thus: mafia posts / town posts * mafia base income More in-thread mafia posts, more money. Mafia base income is the sum of the income of the players. If a player is roleblocked or robbed, they lose their income for the next day.

  14. You'd have been given additional stealing powers that would have made it easier. Still 10k was probably a bit high. A lot of very tough balance decisions in this game, and I got some of them quite wrong if jay entered a correct pager number, he'd get a coded response. I'd like him to post his findings before I reveal the code.
