  1. I second (third? Fourth?) The recommendation for Community. Probably my favorite sitcom on television right now. Parks and Recreation is also great once you make it through the first season (six episodes). 30 Rock is funny, though it takes about half a season for it to hit its stride. How I Met Your Mother is funny and not too taxing, as others have said. If you haven't watched it yet, ReZ is right about Arrested Development being awesome. It will require your full attention, but it's a great show to watch with/at the same time as someone else.

If you want something that mixes comedy and drama, Ashley is right about Chuck being fun, even if it's a bit predictable at times. I also really liked Terriers, though sadly it was canceled after only thirteen episodes. Great show while it lasted, though. It reminded me a bit of Veronica Mars, which is also really good if you haven't watched it yet.

Breaking Bad, Mad Men and The Wire are all fantastic shows, but Ashley is right about them requiring your full attention. I think the first two shouldn't be too taxing, but The Wire is very emotionally draining, to the point where it's almost painful to watch at times. But it's also utterly brilliant, so if you think your girlfriend would be into it, then definitely watch it.

There's also Dexter, Six Feet Under, The Sopranos, The Walking Dead, Boardwalk Empire... I know you said she wasn't into science fiction, but if she's open to it, you should at least try to get her to watch the miniseries for Battlestar Galactica. She might still like that (Caprica is great too, but also science fiction).

Basically I recommend every TV show ever.

  2. Very carefully.

If they were poor or cheap, they would be using newspaper or a nearby family pet.

"How many wipes with the family dog are too many?"

Newspaper might be a viable alternative for Scoop next time, though. Then he wouldn't have to worry about wasting toilet paper.

  3. At least let her post a little before you scare her off.

    Yeah but...Magnus really is someone......

    .......The 3rd Children Three! :p

I did briefly consider picking The 5th Children as a nickname, but I figured that was a surefire way to get banned.

  4. If I were really Raining, she'd be stupid to defend me. The smart thing to do would be to attack me viciously to fend off suspicion. If I'm anyone, it's obviously Diageo.

    Sorry, Diageo. We've/you've been made.

Whilst technically true, Name that Game 2010 won best thread and that's your award for all the hard work you put in. It doesnt have your name attached but all us who voted for it know it wouldn't happen with out you.

So as far as I'm concerned, you did win an award :)

    I second this. Congratulations, Dog-amoto. :)

  5. i didn't see a.. OHHHH high five! ha..

Haha, I thought that was a weird-looking high five. Totally missed that.

Great episode. I loved the callbacks to earlier episodes, and of course the ending was pretty emotional. I saw the ending coming, though that may have had something to do with people's reactions to the episode in this thread.

  6. This was meant to be hey I'm back after an absence lol

Wow, you suck at HEY I'M BACKs. Like, really, really suck at them. :p

My condolences on being apart from your girlfriend, though. That's the problem with long-distance relationships. At least you have something to look forward to!

  7. Nintendohnut officially has the best job ever. I'm surprised he didn't get a free puppy, but I guess they have to save something for tomorrow!

As for me, I discovered that I have way more money in my wallet than I thought. Now to resist the urge to spend it all...
