Argh! I went to HMV yoday to try and get my Xbox replaced, but because the power button on the face plate is messed up ( I took off the face plate one time, and pressed the power button, so it got stretched slightly, and now it can't be used; you can still turn it on, by pressing eject) they say that the Xbox could've been treated roughly (which it hasn't been) so they wont offer a replacement! They also tried to put the blame on the component cable and said that they were very fragile, even though I'd always used an HDMI cable. They seem pretty desperate not to replace stuff. Now the manager says he'll try and diagnose the problem and he'll get back to us on Wedenesday. My problem was that it wouldn't recognise a controller when it was plugged in to the console, he said that it was probably due to the "mishandling" of the controller ports, even though I tried using a wireless controller as well as a wired one. Also, sometimes when I turn it on it has pink vertical lines appearing up and down the screen, although that usually goes away after a while. I wish I was beetter at sticking up for myself. EDIT: I know why: "I’ve owned the console for less than 6 months:[...]it is up to the retailer (not the customer) to prove the fault is not inherent I’ve owned the console for more than 6 months, but less than 12:[...]it would now be up to you, the customer, to prove that the console developed a fault for reasons outside your control. It would not be unreasonable for the retailer to carry out tests to confirm the fault before they repair or replace the unit."

Does anyone know when the PSP-3000 will be in the shops? I tried a quick Google search, but perhaps you guys are more 'in the know'. I was taking a look in GAME and there are actually quite a few good looking PSP games out, or, at least enough to justify a purchase. Anyone want to recommend a game or two? Edit: Nevermind, October 2008

No, thanks, just found it there now. You could buy a memory card and load your gamertag and saves onto that. £8 in CEX, I got one so I could get my Xbox replaced with no worries about saves and stuff. It's also really useful if you want to use you profile on someone else's console.

My 360 has broken. Darn. I assume I can just bring it back to HMV and get it replaced or refunded, I have the receipt and it was bought less than a year ago. Although, I am missing the component cable that came with it. Damn.

A bit late to the discussion but anyway... Before e3 I might have agreed with you, but if the whole party systems they announced works as well as the other aspects of Live, then it really would be worth 40 quid per year. I realised this article was bullshit in the third sentence, when it said that online on the 360 was 'basically the same' as the Wii and the PS3. It really isn't. Perhaps it isn't £40 better than it's competitors, but it isn't the same. The Wii has shit online, I don't think anyone will argue and the PSN is somewhat... lacking. If the Wii didn't have Super Smash Bros Brawl, then I don't think many people would notice if the Wii had no online multi player. The PSN, last time I played on it, was utter crap; however, I'm told it has improved vastly over the past year. Don't forget XBLA is much better than WiiWare and to a somewhat smaller degree, the PSN Store. It's very fun, but does have the longevity of the PC games, although it will proably keep you entertained longer than your average 360 game. It's basically a simplified version of the PC games except with hella nice graphics.

I just got this game - it's brilliant! I've always hated Square Enix RPGs up until now, but this game is awesome. I'm on the 6th Day, I'm guessing there must be some kind of twist that makes the game longer than seven days, because I've only had the game for two days (although I have been playing huge amounts of it). -
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/143327 A friend of mine has that, all I can say is it's probably the best 26" TV I've ever seen. That was with a PS3 through HDMI. I don't know if it's wall mountable, but most are.

When I played through Mass Effect (for the first and only time) I completed every side quest apart from the one where you needed to scan all the Keepers. I was only missing one, I knew where it was, it was positioned beside an Avina unit and every time I tried to scan it, Avina just said, "Do not disturb the Keepers." Just out of curiosity, how do you scan that one? I'm playing Fable: The Lost Chapters at the moment, though I got stuck really early on, the part where you have to sneak past the Bandits (I've never been good at games that require even the tiniest amount of subtlety).

I finished Mass Effect yesterday.

Really? Worse than the first one? I thought it was excellent. Next week's episode looks promising.

a) The epic elevator trips don't bother me, just another load screen. (By the way, what is the big ship you see when you change system? You see the Normandy shoot past it) b) Admittedly these are annoying but they don't ruin the game as some member's made them out to.

Fable: The Lost Chapters £6 Mass Effect £15 From CEX, seems like a pretty good deal. Mass effect is awesome so far, I haven't seen any of the glitches or technical problems that everyone was moaning about.

The original 151 - How many can you remember?
Triple_C replied to Dyson's topic in General Chit Chat
78, I'm disappointed, I could remember the way loads of them looked but not their names, argh! -
I didn't do much today except, I finished Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II; it was excellent, perhaps better than the original. I was glad to discover you could level up past twenty, because I got to twenty around halfway through the first game. At first I didn't like the work station, but it turned out to be an excellent part of the game. The characters were excellent, especially Kreia (perhaps one of the greatest characters of all time?). At first I thought I would play through the game as a complete asshole, following the dark side, but the game made me feel compelled to do the good thing, which is very rare for me. A superb game. So yeah, anybody able to recommend a game to play next? I have a 360 and a DS.

I know, only £3! I decided I'd go back tomorrow and get Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath after all the good stuff was said about it, but it isn't compatible with the 360 Though Munch's Odysee is. Is that any good?

I saw that for £8 in CEX today and considered it, but then decided against it. I was in CEX today, anyway I traded in some games, getting £33 in store credit. then bought All for £25. I had it worked out perfectly, so that if I bough KotOR 2 (I heart Lucas Arts and Bioware/Obsidian) then I'd have used all £33. After looking about the shop a bit I couldn't find it (despite saying it was in stock online), so I asked the shop assistant, and he confirms that there is one copy left, so he searches about a bit but can't find it. So, I'm left with £8 in credit. EDIT: The Half Life disc is purple on the underside, and it says Compact Disc on it, I thought PS2 games were on DVDs and not purple?

I've been debating getting a melodica for ages now. Where did you get it? How much? Do you play on a table or like a saxophone? Which is most comfortable/easiest? How loud is it? Thanks
