  1. Had a mortgage for 3 years, Married for a year, posting threads about contraception, paying £41 a month for a boiler for another 3 years and paying off a car for another 4 years....

But still been to McDonalds once a week for the past 3 buying kids meals to collect the mario toys that come with them and getting game vouchers for birthday pressies from work colleagues and family.

Growing up sucks cause dealing with 2 day hangovers is just terrible, but I love being able to afford £160 on a batman lego tumbler because fuck it I wanna build a batman lego tumbler at my age.

Can't see my age stopping me from doing what I enjoy, and I can't see me changing what I enjoy as I get older. If anything I'm going to do more childish stuff and buy more things I want now I can afford it.

  2. I know the thread title reads straight out of something from Total Divas but it gets to the point.

As you may or may not know I got married last April. We had no intentions to start a family last year or this year. But one thing we always discussed is when I turn 30, that's when we'd go for starting a family.

Well I turned 29 last weekend, so yeah still plenty of time before we go the next stage in our saga.

Tonight I knew my wife was going out straight from work visiting a friend she hadn't seen in a while. I went out with some friends for drinks and admittedly drank a lot and am drunk (Probably hence this thread)

So, when home I got to bed and notice my wife has a bandage over her arm. I immidietly ask what's wrong and if she's okay. She responds "don't get mad, but when I enquired about the next batch of the pill, I also asked about an implant and they could do one this evening so I went for it".

Well, I'm not mad, but just a bit stumped by it as I've read these things can last up to 3 years. And I guess I had it in my head we'd be trying for little Murrs next year, but it seems that the significant other maybe didn't see it that way. I'm

Not sure if the implant can be removed earlier, or if this is is 3 year lock in? Unfortunately with me being a little intoxicated and my wife tired she went to bed while I just went downstairs and watched tv and pondered her decision. We didn't talk much at all from then and she's now asleep while I'm typing this.

Am I over reacting to feeling a little bit "oh... Okay" when I guess I'd assumed we were both onboard for starting a family next year. Am I over reacting in that the implant can be removed earlier than 3 years(I genuinely don't know if it can or not)? Am I right in thinking that sort of decision was worth mentioning to me? Or am I just being a drunken overthinking pleb?

  3. Congratulations to you both @Eenuh and @Fierce_LiNk

    Awesome story on the proposal...

Now enjoy it all, the wedding fairs are pretty good, free champagne, free cake tasting.

Flink, just some advice, you are interested in everything Eenuh asks you and suggests to you... smile and nod, just smile and nod.

It's a whirlwind now till the big day!

  4. Well I completed my first WiiU game of the year, only took me till August to play something on the WiiU other than Mario Kart 8.

I completed Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, I had to take the screenshot below because we'll not see those 2 names together on closing credits again :(

    WVW69iR590Eumw6vf5

The game looks incredible on WiiU. So many memories flooding back when on Dragon Roost Island near the start of the game. It had been a while since I played it on Cube so I did find myself a little rusty in the dungeons. I liked the Triforce charts and shards were a little easier as that was one thing that I found tiring on the Cube version.

So going to continue with giving the PS4 a break and going for a Wii / WiiU / 3DS title next. I've got A Link Between Worlds untouched for 3DS which is tempting me, But with all the Kirby love I've seen over the past few pages thinking I may go with Kirby Adventure Wii.

  5. I was going to say that I don't think I've ever watched any "Let's Play" films, but that would be a lie as there have been occasions if I'm at my wits end with a game I'll take a look for a walk through of that part of the game which 9 out of 10 times are Let's Play films.

I don't really get it though, I've not intentionally watched one to see if I'd like a game or not. Or watched any for games I don't own on other platforms.

My friend does it alot though. He's an Xbox360 and XboxOne owner and is not convinced to buy a Sony console. Yet he's said he's watched complete play through's of The Last of Us and Heavy Rain on PS3. Reason being he said they looked like good games and didn't want to miss out on them, but didn't want to buy a new console.

I don't know though, he's still missing out on them by watching them rather than playing them though isn't he? I'd rather play Sunset Overdrive which I am interested in, than watching someone play it on YouTube.

  6. It's a 2 way split in how I find games intimidating.

    1) Are the scary?

I got Dead Space for Christmas one year, and played the first level or 2 straight off. I knew the tone of the game was dark and scary, but dived in. After the first 2 levels I just stopped playing it. I never completed it till a few years later when I had some free time off work and pretty much forced myself to play it during the day. I don't know if it's considered cheating or not, but I did check up online how many stages or levels there were to complete the game. I didn't read into how they were done or not. I just wanted to know how long I'd be on the game.

At the end of each level it was such a sense of relief. However I never had the sense of fear or dread for Resident Evil or Silent Hill games? Perhaps I enjoy them more and don't see them as a chore to complete? I did like Dead Space though, but it just took a lot of time to finally finish it.

    2) Are they massive games?

It's not so much that the size of games intimidates me, it's more so having the time to dedicate to playing them. When I get home from work now I imagine it's the same for most people. They get home, cook up some food, spend some time with their partners or family and then maybe squeeze 2 hours in the final hours of the evening before switching the light off at a reasonable time to do the same routine the next day?

Granted I'm actually incredibly lucky in that my wife knew what she was marrying into early in our relationship. She knew I was a gamer and would spend what ever disposable income I had on games or gaming related items and any spare time on them. She doesn't mind me taking off to the game room and spending the evening there as she's in the living room watching TV. It's more so my conscious feeling bad that I'm not spending time with my wife.

So now I do tend to worry about the length of games. But depending on the title in question will ultimately lead me to decide on how much time I'll invest on it in evenings. Witcher 3 my wife had no chance. We saw each other when we had food in the evenings, then the next time she'd see me would be when I got to bed at what-ever o clock at night it was.

As of late I've started playing Legend of Zelda Wind Waker HD, and it's very much the same, I'm just spending barely minimal time with her. But after this I know I won't be picking up such a time consuming game for some time (I guess I won't anyway?)

    TL;DR

Scary games can intimidate me, but good scary games (Resident Evil / Silent Hill) don't.

Games of epic size can intimidate me, but it's more so my conscious saying I should spend time with my wife, not necessarily the size of the game so much.

  7. It's been a while apparently since an update, 15 more films since the last post. I won't summarize them though.

I wrote a review for Inside Out though if anyone was interested?

  8. Gardening...

I like gardening, I enjoy the feeling once completed, enjoying the fruits of your labor, sitting in a nice tidy garden enjoying a beer with the fire pit going.

Problem is when home from work in an evening i just want to eat, play games and sleep.

Weekends I tend to find something else to do, and the weekends that are free it's raining cause you know... UK summer and all.

First world problem having to much stuff to do and not enough time to tidy the garden.

And washing my car, I love my car. It looks nice when it's clean, I just rarely clean it.

  9. As mentioned in the Batman Thread, I've completed Batman Arkham Knight! Woo.

I attempted to write a review of it: http://geeksleeprinserepeat.com/2015/07/08/arkham-knight-review/

    Clickbait much?

    In Summary:

The Batmobile is a very cool addition to the franchise, but there is an over reliance on it later in the game which becomes frustrating. The numerous side missions are for the most part very fun and entertaining and offer a way to lock up some of Gotham’s finest villains all over again. Scarecrow as the main protagonist makes for a great shake up from the tried and tested Joker. He personifies a very menacing and genuine threat to Gotham especially aided with the mysterious Arkham Knight. His presence makes the final few parts of this game some of the most entertaining and all out weirdest the series has seen. Any other villain would not have been able to offer such an extraordinary series of finale events.[/Quote]

    Completed:

Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag (PS4)

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (PS4)

The Last of Us Remastered (PS4)

    Thief (PS4)

    Valiant Hearts (PS4)

    Abe's Oddysee: New N Tasty (PS4)

    Far Cry 4 (PS4)

The Walking Dead Season 1 & 400 Days DLC (PS4)

    Never Alone (PS4)

    The Unfinished Swan (PS4)

The Walking Dead Season 2 (PS4)

    The Witcher: Wild Hunt (PS4)

    Batman: Arkham Knight (PS4)

  10. A simple copy & paste from the Arkham Knight thread:

    CI8DggWUYAAlyzx.jpg

The game itself was such a mixture of awesome stuff but also annoying stuff.

The "Joker" scene where your in the movie studio and Batman is stood on that spinning platform while Joker is singing to him. What a great part of the game.

The Joker being a "side kick" throughout the whole game I thought was pretty great

The evidence room in GCPD filled with bad guys you'd already beaten from previous games and filling up with the latest batch you brought in.

The closing scenes where you surrender to Scarecrow and play as the Joker. that whole finale was pretty amazing and trippy. I especially liked the image of seeing Riddler, 2 Face & Penguin all questioning each other what to do with the Joker as he's strapped to the carriage thing, then his own skin on the batmobile was great.

The game in general was more positive than negative to me, but there were a few lows...

    Fuck Cobras. Fuck them...

Arkham Knight tank battle with Cobras... fuck sake

Arkham Knight battle with his driller / crusher thing.. fuck off

Arkham Knight battle when you go to save Gordan and he's got his sniper rifle and you have to do something like 5 'stages' before you get him. Fuck that I wanted a good face off man to man against him, not fucking tanks.

Deathshot tank battle with Cobras... no really fuck off Cobras, and same as above two punches landed once his tank was blown up and he's behind bars.

Destroying the mines / bombs scattered around the city then a wave of 50 tanks come. It's fun sure the first few times... but does get a little repetitive.

When driving the batmobile somewhere and a car with a convict comes into view you have to hold circle to cancel the tracking on it. Fuck sake I didn't want to follow that car in the first place.

Looking back apparently a lot more lows than highs, which is odd as I did actually enjoy the game.

    As of now:

    Completed:

Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag (PS4)

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (PS4)

The Last of Us Remastered (PS4)

In the words of @EEVILMURRAY - Riddler can indeed Fuck off.

I watched the other ending on youtube as I know I'll never have the motivation to find the billion riddler trophies scattered around.

  12. So, I've done all the mines and watch towers across the island, it says I've done 5/5, 4/4 etc for each Island, but they aren't at 100% complete on the stats wheel for some reason and the track bar with the arrows seems to indicate there are more for me to do?

I've found out who the Arkham Knight is now, does that mean more become available to do now that...

DeathStroke has taken over the Milita?

Anyways other than that so far I've locked up:

    2 Face

    Penguin

    Azrael

    Professor Pyg

    "Man-Bat"

    FireFly

    Simon Stagg

I doubt that I'll get the Riddler as I can't see me going for all the remaining Riddler trophies.

Really like the evidence lockup room and looking at the past assailants gadgets that you've locked up.

  13. 70% through the story now, love how mental and twisted it's getting. :hehe:

Also, this has just provided my favourite stealth gameplay moment ever!:

When you need to diffuse the bombs as Robin while "Joker" is singing to Batman.

Bloody brilliant. Not to mention absolutely hilarious.

Took me a few attempts as I kept screwing up due to the laughter.

That was the last mission I did. I loved that.

Really enjoying the riddler side quest stuff. Going to actually complete as many of the side quest things I can before continuing further with the main game.

Done all the 2 Face & Firefly side quests to 100%

  14. Haha. My pic must have given you a kick up the backside. :D

It's very inspirational dude, that's for sure.

I went into Smyths looking for Ganondorf. They didn't have him, but had one Charizard left so I snagged it.

Went to GAME with the intention of only buying Ganondorf if they had him. They did for £15. The I saw one Shulk behind the counter next to stacks of Arkham Knight cases. I inquired and they told me that it's due to go back onto the shop floor. So I just asked if I could buy it, they said no problems. So couldn't turn down a wild Shulk out in the open world.

  15. Posted in the what have you bought thread, but probably worth posting here...

The Amiibo thirst is real again:

    IMG_1294.jpg

So this week I've purchased the 3 above, Lucina and Robin... Oh boy.

  16. Cheers.

Yeah, I have the Yoshi and Splatoon ones all boxed as well.

I plan on redecorating soon, so all the boxed ones are boxed away at the moment. Once that's done, I will get them all mounted on the wall.

If you don't mind me asking? Have you had to pay over the odds for some of them from eBay and such? If so what's the most you've paid?

Sorry if that's too intrusive of a question, just really curious with regards to how you've managed to get them all (bar dede) twice and if it was easy?

I've struggled with some of the rarer ones I've got, but in fairness It's my own fault as I don't pre-order and tend to spend my money on other things like games, dvd's, lego, beer etc. I guess If I devoted my monthly personal spending budget to Amiibo I could buff my collection up more.

  17. Behold! A complete ( at least so far ) open collection.

    image_zpssbpc0otx.jpg

 I am so fucking jealous. I currently have 21 Amiibo (22 technically as I have 2 Marth). I've kept them all unopened, but I do want to try and get them all twice to have an open set and boxed set.

Do you even have a set of the Yoshi unopened too?

Seriously man... such a hot picture.

  18. So on lunch break yesterday I took a stroll over the mall to kill some time and popped into Game as I normally do.

I don't really like buying Amiibo from GAME as they're overpriced there.

However I had to unfortunately shell out £30 on 2 Amiibo that I saw.

Robin & Lucina. They had one Robin left and 3 Lucina left.

    IMG_1286.jpg

(I already had Marth and Ike, but wanted the Fire Emblem Collection group pic :p )

It's payday tomorrow, But I couldn't take the chance of waiting so moved some funds from Holiday savings to the "Buying these fucking Amiibo pot"

Wife wasn't best pleased, but heyho.

  19. With Dead Phoenix never making it, Was Gotcha Force the unofficial / official 5th title from the Capcom 5?

I enjoyed that game (from what I remember). I also remember P.N.0.3 launching on my birthday (29th August) and me spending my birthday money in 2003 on it.

It wasn't great, but I was determined to like it and support the games released for the Gamecube as much as I could. Loved the Gamecube immensely and still stop and stare at my Cube game collection fondly thinking "that console did alright" in terms of games.

  20. I'm free, I can enjoy the sun on evenings now and not lock myself in a room with my PS4.

    CH0BI4NWwAAZMQW.jpg

    FREEDOM!

Enjoyed it alot. As time goes on I find it harder to settle down with a large game and get the time and dedication to complete it. I normally only tend to play and finish games with shorter campaigns now, but took the gamble on Witcher and couldn't put it down. Loved it despite initially not appreciating the graphics of it as much as others.

Got plenty more to do I guess despite finishing the main questline. I don't like despite the open world being so big, now the story is finished you feel so alone not having Zoltan or Dandelion in the pub, not being able to see Yen in Kaer Mohren.

Thinking I can finally buy Splatoon now with Junes payslip, although Yoshi is pretty high on the do want scale.

    Completed:

Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag (PS4)

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (PS4)

The Last of Us Remastered (PS4)

    Thief (PS4)

    Valiant Hearts (PS4)

    Abe's Oddysee: New N Tasty (PS4)

    Far Cry 4 (PS4)

The Walking Dead Season 1 & 400 Days DLC (PS4)

    Never Alone (PS4)

    The Unfinished Swan (PS4)

The Walking Dead Season 2 (PS4)

    The Witcher: Wild Hunt (PS4)

  21. Pretty disappointed that the only Animal Crossing WiiU game we're getting is a spinoff from the series.

Didn't really find much to get excited about while watching this. I did enjoy the look of the house decorating game for 3DS and will probably snap that up. But this upsets me :(

I will however get the Amiibo.
