  1. I'm impressed that people actually use analogue triggers that precisely. When I have used them I play exactly the same way as I would with digital triggers or any other button for that matter. Accelerate full throttle and lift off/brake when you need to slow down.
  2. It's as stupid as saying when in handheld or tablet mode out and about you may not have WiFi and so you can't release any games that require online.
  3. That's a very interesting point. Now that we have a handheld capable of displaying hi end graphics will we stop seeing traditionall 2d handheld type games? It would be a shame if developers felt that had to always use the best graphics for fear their game won't sell.
  4. I think they very much demonstrated Switch as a portable home console in the initial reveal. And that had to be the hook. Yes GTA5 won't look quote as good on Switch although on the small screen I doubt you'd notice much of a difference, but can you play it on the way to work on PS4 or XB1. I would imagine a greater percentage of people would choose the Switch version of a game if like for like versions were released on all 3 consoles. We have had this debate before graphics vs portability?
  5. We'll then that dirty old bustard has done me by a year. Now I feel like a whipper snapper.
  6. I get that a Fifa game mid season could be problematic, but personally I want to play Fifa on the Switch right now, not in bloody November. Anyway, now it's been confirmed that the games that are playable as part of the online subscription are only available for that month (so it's more of a rental/trial) I expect the yearly fee to be much closer to £20 than £40. Are Gamecube games on VC a thing or just a rumour? Switch is bloody crazy. I love everything about the hardware, for me it's right up there with the N64 on terms of the kind of leap forward, but the games situation is baffling. I'll still probably pick one up day one, mostly just to have on my ski trip, but as yet there are no games I want to buy at launch. Really hoping there are some surprises in store.
  7. So regarding Fifa does that mean it's not coming out anytime soon if they are showing it at E3? I assumed because it was a big part of the presentation that it would be a launch window game. Now I'm thinking it will launch with Fifa 18 in October, that's a long time to wait!
  8. I'll be pissed off even if it's £5 per month. I detest this practice of being forced to pay an additional fee to use the console to it's fullest capabilities.
  9. Unless I'm mistaken, Nintendo said you would get a free game for a month. Which is exactly the same as PS+. I don't know how/why this has been interpreted as the game gets taken away after a month. At this point I don't think we know 100% either way but logically it just means it will work exactly the same as PS+. Why would they take the game away?
  10. Just to wind this back. Nintendo have said they will launch a new paid for online system whereby you receive monthly games as part of the service. This will include party chat. So pretty much exactly what Xbox Live & PS+ offer. Isn't this what everybody wanted? It's frustrating that they have not decided/revealed what the cost of this will be, but it's pretty obviously going to be somewhere between £20-£40 per year. The voice chat app is probably the only way to go about it considering the console is also portable. So they have given us what we want in the only way that is feasible and the stuff they are not telling us is either blatantly obvious that it probably doesn't require confirmation or is within a margin that will be indifferent to 99% of users. Really? A HUGE issue! If it turns out to be £80 a year that's a huge issue. If it's £30 then that's not an issue at all, it's just a minor frustration that we don't actually know it yet. I tell you what if it's more than £45 a year, I'll pay your subscription and if it's under £20 you can pay mine.
  11. Of course it will be online at launch. Same old problem on here, far too many people take a rumour turn, turn it into a fact paint the worst possible picture and then post it on here.
  12. The more I think about it, I'm think Fifa will be the only EA game we see on Switch unless it does big numbers. We can't be getting FIFA 18 if Switch Fifa isn't available at launch and 18 will be out in October. It's starting to feel like EA are fulfilling their obligations and nothing more.
  13. With the likes of wave race, 1080, Fzero all they need to do is remaster the old games and stick them on 1 disc. Most people would be happy to get 2 remastered games (n64+gc) for £30-40
  14. I would be utterly gobsmacked if I'm not the oldest member on here and by a stretch to.
  15. It will be a bit frustrating buying the game again but it's no different to buying a cd ofor an album you already own on vinyl. I've bought the star wars films three times vhs/dvd/bluray
  16. I though I'd have a bit of a clear out of games to trade in for the Switch. I've got 6 Wii U games I have never even started, so a bit of a marathon is required to get these done. Plus I've got a few more download games but obviously I can't reade these in so not so much urgency. What has been a revelation is how much Nintendo's in house games are worth for trade in. All £15 + whereas the yearly update games like Fifa/COD/AC are all worth pennies in comparison. I've got over £100 of trade in value so decided to go for it and order all the Switch accessories at launch.
  17. I haven't pre-ordered yet because I'm still waiting for somebody to do some bundles. The whole launch of the Switch is very bizarre from the secrecy to the "part" reveal and now it seems even the retailers are acting strangely. Since when has there not been bundles on a new console.
  18. I really hope that some more day 1 games are announced or at least some good bundles. I'm going to pre-order just in case I can't get one, but will be in the rather unique position of owning a brand new console with no games to play on it.
  19. Because if you're out and about you'd need WiFi for the Switch to be able to party chat. This way you can use the app on your phone to chat regardless. At least that is what I think they are doing which makes perfect sense. BUT it's Nintendo so God only knows how it will actually work in the real world.
  20. Exactly. Honestly @Sheikah wind it in about the controllers. Last few pages have been nonsense.
  21. They changed the layout for Switch because both Joycons had to have the same configuration when being used as individual controllers. There is no wrong or right layout, different layouts suite different games. The Wii U Pro controller is best suited for shooters as you mostly use both sticks and shoulder buttons. Just out of interest what are your views on the position of the left analogue stick on Dualshocks?
  22. The analogue sticks crumble, the shoulder buttons fail and on one of mine the touchpad sticks. They are without doubt the poorest quality 1st party controller I've ever had.
  23. Good video and a lot of people on here should squirm when they watch it. How many times have I heard "PS+ isn't £40 because I got it in the sale" . RRP!
  24. There are obviously a lot of games in production. The sample vid at the end of the reveal showed a lot of games that have not been mentioned as yet and we already "know" about numerous in-house titles that again were not mentioned (Pikimin 4, Pokémon, Luigis Ghost House) it does beg the question why they have not given out more info for these. Perhaps they are waiting for E3? Is Gamecube VC a thing or still just a rumour at this point? It's good to see that already the RRP prices are being slashed by retailers, not that you'd think it by all the bitching and moaning on here!
  25. Is Switch expensive really? If they wanted to hit $299 then this would have been sub £250 before Brexit. Would people be moaning at £250? Yes the extra controllers are expensive but again you can probably put the best part £10 of this cost down the weak pound.
