He wanted the strategy to be "Copy the 360". That would completely blow any strategy, just copying another. HELLO, this is Nintendo. They make their money by setting trends. Their next console will be the start of a new generation, not continuing this one. Fool.
-
People please. I'd defeat you all :P Anyway, the reason they're doing this is because Black & White are essentially a whole new beginning so they want to monopolise on that before they open up the rest. Think of it just like the Red/Blue tournements with better mechanics

The thing I'm looking forward to the most are the AR games. I love the whole concept of the AR games. But 6 cards and a handful of games...I hope a Pokémon AR mini-game compilation comes out. The reason I love Augmented Reality so much is that it's one-step closer to Holodecks!

I just hope we don't have to wait too long for Pilotwings or Zelda...at the moment, all I'm getting is Monkey Ball as I dislike fighting games and the rest don't appeal to me

Nintendogs originally sold around 20 million units. To Nintendo, that's a major title
-
Seems they're Launch Window titles so we'll see them in one of the releases in April or May

With the 3DS trade price at £173, they're making a 33% markup at having it £229.99 (If you're calculating to check my work, don't forget the tax on the profit which is what takes it to £229.99) I think that Nintendo intended for retailers to take the 10% markup which would have taken it to just above £190, and round it to £199.99 but alas You need to remember their new strategy. They're staggering the releases rather than all at once and then nothing for a couple of months. I'm not a fan of it either but still

A few friends of mine got told £229 at their game shops so it's likely this guy is exaggerating or has been had. This is a real mess. The whole hypetrain in Europe has been derailled because of this

On another forum I go to, someone posted this;

Yeah, plus it's looking like it'll be a US/EU launch title too Though I still don't know about using Wuhu Island again, hopefully they've made it worth it.

In September, when the 3DS was given its February 26th Japanese date, they said it'd be out in the other territories by the end of March. When it was first announced, it was promised that it'll be out before the end of the fiscal year

Going to be watching the stream for the EU one, and keeping my eye on live blogs for the US Gotta keep an eye on both for the site
-
I've yet to be able to find a stream for the US one

The 3DS has been given a Japanese price identical to the Wii's Japanese price. People are logically deducing that the price could equal that of the Wii's launch prices in other regions which equates to £180. Incidentally, a direct conversion has the 3DS' Japanese Pricepoint at £192 last I checked

I'm very very glad you enjoy the site The thing with the Pokémon in Black & White is that they grow on you. The designs are creative and not as plain as many of the Generation I ones like Seel, Doduo etc. I've come to the conclusion that most of the Generation V Pokémon are in fact awesome, especially as they bring new type combinations and have awesome stat distributions with some of them lowering Speed to give some incredibly awesome other stats. Take Oobemu for example. It has low Speed but a beastly Special Attack, which is enhanced even more when we get its tertiary ability whenever its released (tertiary abilities are, at the moment, only available on about 60% of the pre-Gen V Pokémon and 4 Gen Vs) As for the Triple Battles, they, along with the Rotation Battles, are seldom used in-game. However, having played them both in the game and competitively, I must state that they are a lot of fun. It's not just battles with three Pokémon, but there is a massive amount of strategy behind it. TM re-use, while I agree with you in some ways, is remedied by a wider range of TMs and it being made so not every Pokémon with legs gets Earthquake. Not all Water-types get Ice Beam etc. Though the pre-Gen Vs still have the TM compatibility they had from Gen IV if that move is still a TM. As for the tournaments, the first details about this year's WCS were announced. Unfortunately, this year, they've announced the following; Only Pokémon in the Unova Pokédex can be used (Barring Victini, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Kerudio, Meloetta & Genosect. Each battle is Double Battle Pokémon are lowered to Level 50 Can't use the same Pokémon/Items twice or more in the team

It's very very unlikely that a Pokémon game will be revealed. Pokémon games are never revealed outside of Japan At the very most, you'll see Pokémon Black & White advertised as 3DS compatible and possibly you'll see Typing DS. I have a theory however, that in the past 3 months since it was revealed, Typing DS has been pushed to be a 3DS game.
-
I believe they said previously that Link's Awakening and Super Mario Land will be available on launch
-
There isn't really much they can say about it really though

From what I have been able to glean, the US games and UK games run off of the same WiFi server so it's very probable you will get them In English name news, the new issue of Nintendo Power in America, the February issue, has announced that the Live Caster, the feature for video chat in the games through the use of the DSi, DSiXL or 3DS, has been given the name of; Xtransceiver (pronounced as Cross Transceiver). This feature is also utilised in-game in a similar means to the PokéGear in HeartGold & SoulSilver to allow you to keep in contact with your rivals, Professor Juniper and your in-game mother

Right, my EU bretheren, we have dates; Following Tuesday's announcement of the giveaway of the Shiny Beasts over WiFi for Europe, the official site has updated with the various dates of these Pokémon. Like the Gamestop release in America, these WiFi events are to be staggered and seperate and will each last one week; Raikou: February 7th 2011 to February 13th 2011 Entei: February 14th 2011 to February 20th 2011 Suicune: February 21st 2011 to February 27th 2011 Once again, these beasts, when sent to the Black & White games give access to Zoroark.
-
We don't have the EU launch lineup which is likely to include the games out in Japan in march and various western developed titles such as Assassin's Creed

A friend of mine recently had a hands on with the 3DS and he thinks the analogue pad is the best thing he's ever used. It's apparently really intuitive and you don't realise until later that you've never used one before
-
I fail to see how inclusion of a friend code system, which Nintendo loves and said isn't going anywhere, would be indicative of the launch going wrong
-
Never ever trust retaillers. It is ridiculous to think the 3DS will cost that much. It'll be £180-£200 MAX.
