Got a chance to play wii fit and mario the other day. Mario just puts a big smile on your face It's gone back to it's classic platformer fun factor roots in my opinion. The honeybee level just oozes mario 64 in it's cuteness and invitable platforming. Like EDGE wrote it their preview, you just WANT to play in the world, it's that inviting. The only gripe I had with it was the spin attack. I'm getting pretty tired of having to shake the remote to do an attack. That seems kinda tacked on imo. But then again, I'm certain that as with every nintendo wii game, with a bit of practise, the controls will all fall into place, and I'll be wizzing through the world once I get them down. The coolest thing was grabbing onto one gravity orb after the other, and gliding through space, collecting stars along the way with your pointer. The gravity feel really is an welcome innovation!

I tried wii fit the other day, and I must say it was pretty fun. I'm not sure about the longevity in single player though. The balance board is extremely sensitive, making the yoga exercises pretty hard! I guess I'll buy it, but it'll probably only come out of the closet during holidays with the family. One other thing: you absolutely CAN'T fake the hoola hooping. You really have to hoola hoop! :p

On some tv's, i get better reception when putting the sensor bar on the stand, as the stand has a little downward angle to it, so it sometimes does have it's use, or on my one tv upstairs, where the flat part of the top of the tv starts about 2 cm's deeper than the face of the screen..

Um, my guess is you KNOW your specs are good but just want to show off. Well be my guest

Wii First Impressions compared with 360
nicolasmasset replied to Ant-Shimmin's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I just decided I'm going to buy a 360 myself when either Resi 5 or Fable 2 come out! But I'm always going to be a wii man. 4 player Wii sports just lasts for ages! -
Can you explain further please? As I'm not a tennis player myself, I'd like to know just how much it compare with reality and why/not..
-
Can anyone tell me how you do a proper backspin and lob with tennis? The lob seems to be a bit random imo. Or even better, can anybody put a video tutorial up on youtube or something? I'm getting pretty good at aiming in tennis, but can't really get my head around spinning and lobbing... Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't...

RESI Evil Remake looks crap for anyone else?
nicolasmasset replied to CompSci's topic in Nintendo Gaming
On most "HD" tv's, everything below 720p looks crap. Lcd's just plain suck. Always those annoying swimming pixels. I'd never buy anything less than a plasma, and even then I'd totally rather wait for laser tv's or SED to come out. Contrast ration of 100.000 - 1 Beat that lcd! -
Classic controller or gamecube controller?
nicolasmasset replied to CompSci's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I think i'm gonna stick with the wiimote for 8bit games -
Some Europe locations already selling Wii
nicolasmasset replied to DiemetriX's topic in Nintendo Gaming
aargh, can't wait any longer! -
nice!!! Now they'll hopefully let you hook up your own external hd to the usb's, and we're good to go!
-
Yes I did. But it could indeed have been a wii connected to gamecube hardware that ran the game or something.. I hate it that america already has the wii by the way, now the web's littered with zelda spoilers, it's not fun anymore to search the web for news everyday, video overload.

the latest on the spot on http://www.gamespot.com is filled with 4 hours of wii gameplay of all the launch games, with commentary.

Well how come the light was always on then when I was playing zelda at the flanders gamepowerexpo last saturday?! :p

Who's going? I am! Doors open at 9:30 for those who bought a ticket in advance. If you didn't, you get in by 10am. Think I'm going to be an early bird to avoid the lines for the wii and ps3. Yes, you heard me, I might as well check out the ps3 while I'm at it
