  1. That sounds very promising. Star Fox 64 and F-Zero X just felt so off on the Wii U, to the point where it wasn't enjoyable trying to play them. Hoping I can get a decent 60hz experience on the Switch.
  2. Pikmin Bloom (mobile)

If it's like Pokémon Go, it'll link to Google Fit (or whatever the Apple equivalent is). So it can track your walking without the app being on in the background.
  3. Dragon Quest XI

Found the PS4 definitive edition on ShopTo for £16.51, I think I'll get that as I never use my Switch in handheld mode.
  4. Dragon Quest XI

Almost finished with Yakuza 7. After all the Dragon Quest references, I'm curious to try a game in the series. Is this a good one to go for if I've never played any before? And am I better off getting it on Switch or PS4/5?
  5. Mario Party Superstars (29th Oct)

    Pre order bonus:
  6. Yeah I received an email with the codes yesterday.
  7. Got absolutely nothing, might as well keep my predictions for the next Smash Bros game.
  8. Cruis'n Blast

Yeah it is a very feature light game. It helps that unrealistic racing games is a genre I like a lot and there haven't been many like this for ages. It was fun while it lasted, there are better indie racing games out on the Switch though. FAST Racing Neo and Riptide GP Renegade (I played this on PS4 but I think it released later on Switch) are cheaper and more complete packages.
  9. Victory Heat Rally (2022)

That looks really neat, it's like a cross between mode 7 and 3D. If it turns out well, would love to see them try their hands at a new F-Zero.
  10. God of War: Ragnarök (9th November 2022)

It's nice to hear stories of game developers/publishers being good for a change.
  11. Pokémon Legends: Arceus (28th January 2022)

Nintendo Players UK posted similar news and called it a Celestica Flute. Not sure where they got the additional info from though.
  12. Pokémon Legends: Arceus (28th January 2022)

Scyther is one of my favourites, nice to see it get (another) decent evolution. I'm still not really sold on this game though, I think I'll wait for reviews to come out before ordering it.
  13. Nintendo Direct : 23.09.21 (11pm UK time)

Maybe it did? I generally don't mess with the default control schemes when I play games.
  14. Yakuza 7 (PS4 2020)

Slowly making my way through the game, just got to Chapter 12. I'm not sure if any grinding is necessary or recommended before continuing with the story? There is an optional underground 'dungeon' area and a fighting arena. No battles have been too difficult so far, but some enemies have taken a ridiculously long time to defeat.
  15. Nintendo Direct : 23.09.21 (11pm UK time)

I remember really enjoying replaying Banjo Kazooie and Perfect Dark on XBLA. Apart from some oddly stretched HUD stuff, I don't remember any issues with Banjo. And the modern controls on Perfect Dark were very welcome, the N64 controls in hindsight were weird even back then (Turok controls made much more sense for an N64 controller). The first thing I did was turned the auto-aim off and it was still a lot easier than the N64 version. Apart from Joanna Dark's face, I liked the graphical overhaul that 4J did. Online multiplayer was also a lot of fun and the badges in the leaderboard stats added more replay value.
  16. Nintendo Direct : 23.09.21 (11pm UK time)

I was so excited about finally being able to play F-Zero X in 60fps on the Wii U Virtual Console, it was such bitter disappointment when it released with horrendous controls. Is it too much to expect that the N64 control stick calibration won't be complete jank this time?
  17. Cruis'n Blast

Got this earlier today, it's a lot of fun so far. There seems to be lots of upgrades to unlock for each vehicle and every track has 3 hidden keys which unlock new vehicles. It should keep me busy a while.
  18. There's a big article on the official Star Wars site going into more details: https://www.starwars.com/news/knights-of-the-old-republic-remake I'm more optimistic after reading that, it's not just a port studio suddenly thrown in the deep end.
  19. Wasn't the original Wii version relatively well made and glitch free (by 3D Sonic standards)? It's a bit like a previous anniversary when they released that appallingly bad GBA port of Sonic 1.
  20. WarioWare Get It Together! (10th Sept)

The demo is fun, especially the co-op. I was expecting co-op to involve taking turns, but both people play each minigame at the same time. You can probably get much better scores this way, if you don't keep getting in each others way. Nintendo Players UK are currently doing a high score competition for the demo:
  21. Football Season 2021/22

Man City or PSG would have been a more entertaining move. He'll probably lose the League Cup final and Europa Cup final with Man Utd. And come 4th in the league.
  22. Pokémon Legends: Arceus (28th January 2022)

If animating all those Pokémon is that troublesome, it sounds like they'd be best off returning to 2D for the main series games and resurrecting Stadium for 3D battles. I'm not really sure what to think of Legends. It looks like it'll probably get poor reviews, but still sell ridiculously well. Will the success or failure of this game make any difference to how the Pokémon Company handles the main series games?
  23. Judgment (25th June PS4)

I'd get the PS5 version if you can, it made such a big difference for Yakuza 7. The game runs extremely smoothly and there isn't enough time to read the text on the loading screens. It's hard going back to PS4 Dragon Engine games, the frame rate is really jarring and visually they look low res, it makes them feel very dated.
  24. Formula 1: 2021 Season

I was following the live updates on the BBC, definitely sounds like the most exciting race of the season. It's been a really rough season for Bottas, I wonder if he will still be racing for Mercedes next season?
  25. Football Season 2020-21

Looking forward to the new season. On paper at least, it looks like it could be a 4 horse race with Man Utd's new signings and Liverpool's players returning from injury.
