Excellent topic Takeo For me it has to be FFVIII all the way. The story, although sappy, was amazing and I really related to Squalls character. Many people hated the Junction System but I found it really inventive and quite deep. I mean you could change your tatctics just by swicthing the magic you had on a character. Also this has one of the best openings in any game ever. An interesting point was raised on a 1UP special about the worst sequels ever made and FFVIII was pointed out as one of them. The reason being that FFVII was the first RPG/FF game that many had played and people expected FFVIII to play exactly the same ass they werent aware that FF games usually change in each edition. This put many people of FFVIII and I was one of them when I first played it. It wasnt til I sat down and played it for a 2nd time and finished the game that I came to truely see how great it was/is. Oh and the card game is the best mini game in any FF game, yes including Blitz Ball!

Well I just bought Gitaroo after watch that vid, looks like a very quirky game. Also picked up Guitar Hero 2 today and Disgaea 2. I was listening to the soundtrack you get free with Disgaea 2 on the way home in the car, I only got to song 10 but its all good at the moment. I personally love song 7. I have also snapped up Yakuza ( £9.99 off Game ) Shadow of Colossus (£15 off Woolworths site) and We Love Katamari.

I still havent played any of those mentioned. I know what Ico and Shadow are but what about Gitaroo Man. Is it like a Parappa the Rappa style game? Im still trying to find myself a copy of Z.O.E 2 but the ebay prices are stupid.

When did the series change? Im sure back on the NES and SNES Castlevania was just a platformer. I tried playing DOS but I couldnt get into it, felt too much like Metroid which im not a big fan of.

You can get Makai Kingdom: Chronicle of the Sacred Tome and Phantom Brave off Amazon ( just picked them up myself ) quite cheap. Disgaea 2 is everywhere and Disgaea 1 can be bought off many people on ebay still sealed the same goes for La Pucelle.

Im the same, im still not sure about Lost Planet and the Wii has nothing of interest to me for a while. Methinks this would be a perfect time to revisit the PS2 and get some of those gems such as Ico, Shadow of Colossus, ME and My Katamari and Dragon Quest bought and played. I may even invest in Guitar Hero.

I hope you can find yourself a copy of this gem, everyone should play this game.

I totally agree with it being overlooked. Many just disregarded it because of the whole GBA thing but it really is a beautiful game with an awesome soundtrack. I had the pleasure of playing it with 3 mates and it was a great experience.

I have started playing Killer 7 today and I have just killed the Afro guy. I think im nearly half way through the game now and I still havent got a single clue what the hell is going on. Please tell me everything falls into place before or even at the end?

I was never a big fan of DOA 4, they made it too hardcore. They should have kept it like DOA Ultimate. I like fighting games that are easy to get into and play but have the added depth in them if you do decide to learn the moves and play it religiously.

It was/is an awesome game. I have a hard time picking which is better though, the first one on the N64 or the Cube one. I think both these are better than the DS and GBA versions.

I was reading 1up today as its a VF5 special all this week and Sega have stated that they didnt make the PS3 version online as it cant mimic an actual 2 player game due to lag and such so they dont want to lessen the experience any. I imagine the 360 version will be the same though I could be wrong.

We get ToeJam and Earl tomorrow and R-Type next week but we havent a sniff of SF2, hopefully it will be in the first game batch come new year.

Looks like Streetfighter 2 was closer than expected. The yanks get it christmas day along with Super Castlevania and Mario Bros.

I totally miss the old style Disney flicks. I loved all the songs and stories but now they seem to just churn out rubbish at the cinema and sequel after sequel on dvd. The problem is the whole 3D animated feature, these types of films have killed Disney off and they have saturated the film market. Its stupid how many of these films are being made now. Best Disney for me is Lion King. I also love Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid, Hercules and Mulan.
