  1. Tekken 7

I mean, the series does feature a boxing kangaroo.
  2. Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy (PS4)

A Croc of shit? I remember liking it but it probably controls so poorly now.
  3. E3 2017

My predictions: - Exclusive content - Sweaty, hirsuit, bespectacled presenters who deliver obscure community in-jokes in an overly-eager fashion, fostering an atmosphere of pity which is bookended by apathetic applause - Empty feeling of disappointment despite efforts to temper expectations prior to the event - EXCLOOOSIVE CONTENT Can't wait.
  4. New visitors?! But seriously, you could just do a poll for best game and best indie game for each quarter or something - these results aren't exactly electrifying reading. Just Dance isn't and won't ever be a serious contender (maybe that's showing too much faith in the Switch release schedule) and the voting rounds are overkill.
  5. Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy (PS4)

Masochist. I think a friend and I gave up on the 200% run with two sets of characters. Final warp room was too much.
  6. Teaching in Japan

Weird you posted this, as I just finished my TEFL course today. Leaning more towards Korea rather than Japan, but not ruling out Japan altogether. Thinking of going through the British Council or SeoulESL, but I'll be interested to see who you'll go through if you end up going to Japan. (Can't speak a lick of Korean or Japanese and I haven't taught English before, so I might be barking mad. TA is probably the best option)
  7. Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy (PS4)

They've added time trials to the first two games though, and that was one of the best features of Warped. I like to whip out CTR now and then too. And Crash Bash for that matter, fucking great games.
  8. WipEout Omega Collection

I wonder if they'll recycle the excellent trophy from Wipeout HD that required you to complete the entire campaign with bronze medals, equip the ship livery obtained by doing so, and then finish an online race on completely dead servers in which seven other players have also followed the same measures. I have such fond memories of collaborating with adolescent Gamefaqs users to get that trophy. All of them exercised remarkable restraint in their refusal to deliberately sabotage my trophy hunt (by quitting seconds before the end of a correctly-organised race, as a hypothetical example), and with just four short hours spent across two separate days in the successful attempt (presumably the slight delay was caused by your usual PSN connection issues) I was overcome by a warm, fuzzy feeling of gratitude for the developers of the game; not only had they allowed me to flex my racing muscles, but my admin muscles were given a workout too. If only we were ennobled by these kinds of trials more often.
  9. Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy (PS4)

I feel like you'd be better off waiting for the release. You know what you're getting, so at least leave room for some surprise.
  10. General Switch Discussion

Played a (friend's) Switch for the first time yesterday. I know people have been having technical issues but MY GOD, what a cracking piece of hardware. Was initially hostile to the concept of the system and all the moving parts (pricing and accessories are still issues for me) but have to say I'm won over as far as the system is concerned. Played 3 player Mario Kart at the pub after watching football and everything made sense. I imagine if you were a modern, pro-tech parent, you'd be a moron if you didn't buy one. Crying out for a Warioware game, mind.
  11. Survival/Battle royale games

Never had a PC that could run anything beyond Gone Home at minimum settings with a poor frame rate, so no. If I did I definitely wouldn't have played Rust because it looks gash m8.
  12. Survival/Battle royale games

Was it by JackFrags? There's one at the top of the thread, but any of his are worth watching. Game is lit yo.
  13. Prey

Had a double take and then realised it wasn't just you being you
  14. Urbex (Urban Exploration)

I'll be using a different type of drone when I visit you Bob.
  15. Urbex (Urban Exploration)

I'd totally join you but I live bare miles away and I can't use a camera. Would like to learn the basics of photography at some point though. Seen some urbex blogs of overgrown cities (possibly in China) and thought it would be a cool thing to do. Keep up it up bruh.
  16. Urbex (Urban Exploration)

Bit of Fallout here, bit of Condemned there, bit of Last of Us here. A staggering body of work. Did the near-death experience put you off for a while? I vaguely remember you posting about it ages ago.
  17. Call of Duty: WWII (PS4/XB1/PC)

It's because of the backlash to exosuits, OP kill streaks and bullshit futuristic gadgets. They had to signpost the break with the trend in the most obvious way to get people back onside.
  18. Who will you be voting for in the upcoming general election? Or are you going to wait for the election broadcasts and debates before making a decision? The poll results are public because don't be a pussy.
  19. Survival/Battle royale games

Battlegrounds was confirmed for PS4 and Xbox One a little while back, which is good news, but I do wonder if it'll come with significant performance issues. I think sales success on consoles will largely depend on the speed with which the developer gets new maps up and running to keep players interested. Microsoft are making the game available early on the Xbox Preview Program, one conspicuous area Sony hasn't sewn up yet.
  20. He's a respectable moderate, but my God his 2015 leadership campaign video was dreadful. Not as horrifying as Liz Kendall's in fairness. That really sat apart on a whole other plane of horror.
  21. Gee, when you put it in reasonable terms like that you make me sound like a cunt! *googles 'am I a cunt?'*
  22. Does anyone else have a problem with the hidden criteria they set for potential partners? I've been speaking to a girl for a few weeks and she's attractive, ambitious (doing a Masters in psychology, considering a career in humanitarian work) and all the other good stuff, but there's a big bee under my bonnet at the moment. The crux of it is: while she professes to be a sceptical person who values science/reason etc, she also says that science/the scientific community is arrogant in what it claims to hold certain, and that she's open to alternative explanations of the universe like astrology. In principle that's not a wildly dumb position; science doesn't offer answers to everything, theories are constantly debunked, and it's perfectly healthy to acknowledge that there are limits to human understanding about nature and the cosmos. At the same time, astrology is patently a load of bullshit; it controverts our ever-dependable laws of physics, there's not a shred of evidence for it, and it smacks of the worst kind of exploitative moneymaking scheme going. It's really nothing more than man-made wishful thinking. I could propose the idea that all human souls past and present originally emanated from my arsehole, but there's no sense in being open to that idea just because it can't be totally disproved. Also, science is in fact a humble enterprise - researchers and theorists show deference to new evidence and willingly admit to the limits of their powers. [All of which I've tried to argue.] So I'm in a position where I feel like I should overlook this belief because, hell, we all have stupid beliefs and personal delusions, most of them kind of harmless. To be this strict on relationship criteria would be to ignore my actual feelings towards this person, and overemphasize the importance of intellect. And yet why can't I shake the feeling that it's quite important to share the same universe as your partner? [melodramatic close]
  23. Does anyone fancy making a voting intention thread? Haven't made a poll in ages and I'm scared.
  24. If a Labour/Lib Dem coalition did happen it would mean we'd go through with Brexit, but the Lib Dems would have bargaining power to 'soften' it. But weirdly, Labour themselves want a soft Brexit anyway because most of their MPs are remainers.
