  1. I won Donkey Konga 2 via a comments post competition a while back, I received a prompt email and also the game a week or so later. You guys fail to realise the popularity of Cube-Europe, and since this isn't a random comment to pick they're going to need to sit and sift through countless hundreds of emails with terrible choices for who should fight. Also they'll probably need to keep eliminating and narrowing it down until a winner is decided. What if someone submitted the same winner entry? They'll need to go back and think again.

This is a long process. I think I'll go play my copy of Jump Superstars while waiting.

  2. Everyone's entitled to there own opinion. I honestly dont care if he what he thinks the controller looks like (to be honest, it does look like the sex toy he linked to) Its just that everyone seems to find it funny. Am I missing something, or do I just have higher standards.

P.S. I do love PVP and Penny Arcade.

Well, that's the beauty of choice. I could understand of nazi kittens had you reading each comic at gunpoint, but you don't have to read it. Maybe you do have high standards, but some of Scott Ramsomamsomamorymair's work really is quite clever and funny, he caters well to his fanbase. The Pikmin comic highlights one of his better comics, although his most recent are the best artistically and comically.

And a point I missed on your first point, people dig stupid comedy. Not everyone can appreciate intelligent comedy because they aren't intelligent - I think I'm somewhere in this group, probably at the back in a corner or something.

  3. I think the art is genuinely awesome, and the guy does an excellent job of catering to videogame fans with some hilarious results. It never used to be a webcomic I avidly enjoyed, but I make sure to read the latest release every Monday.

Just because someone doesn't like the Revolution pad doesn't make someone's webcomic shit, no matter how much you want it to. If you don't like his comic, you don't like his comic. You can't suddenly expect people to hate his work because of him saying exactly what a lot of people were thinking.

Whilst I disagree with the comment about the Revolution controller, and his subsequent decision that Nintendo were finished, I'll bet my ten cents he'll be on the bandwagon when it launches. People need to give this thing a chance, it'll probably end up selling in immense quantities over in Japan and we in Europe and those pesky American kids will see for sure if the DS aspect of gaming really can make the financially amicable transfer to the console market. Sure, what we're looking at isn't conventional, and I'm sure all of us are just a little bit concerned this just isn't going to work.

After seeing the device for the first time, my expectations plummeted. When I started to read more about it and lend my thoughts to Nintendo's new invention I couldn't help but feel intrigued. This device will certainly enrich various stale games and genres, and with the assurance a "regular" control option will be provided, I can't help but feel my excitement level rise. The above coupled with the fact we've been informed further secrets about the device are being withheld elicts that same anticipation I had for the GameCube as I read the launch details on IGN all those many moons ago.

Let's be truthful here, most of us were going to buy the Revolution even if it was a sex toy, although Rezolution may have been a more appropriate title given the vibrant reputation that particular headfuck has gained itself.

Bottom line is... stop hating on someone's work because they've dissed the precious. We've all done it, and it isn't going to stop here. You shouldn't be this sensitive to things said on the Internet, since everyone has journalistic quality freedom on here, not to say all musings are of a journalistic quality but you know how it goes.

I'd like to consider these four the webcomics I most often enjoy. Not only for the quality of the art and writing, but simply because they can sometimes actually put a smile on my face for an entire day.

    Penny-Arcade

    PVP Online

    VG Cats

    CTRL+ALT+DEL

All of the above represent the best gaming webcomics of the bunch, the true golden trophies stood taller than the rest urinating on them with a cheeky grin. I really like Ctrl+Alt+Del because the art style reminds me of Family Guy for some reason, don't ask why. VG cats blends pretty much all of my likes into one crazy weekly chuckle-fest, and the other two don't even need mentioning. Chances are you've read them before. Scott Kurtz is immense.

I'm off to work. Stop the hating.

  4. Lloyd, Sheena, Raine and Genis. Lloyd because he's so much fun to control, Sheena because of the off-chance I can summon when she goes into over-limit. Raine because of her brilliant support spells, and of course the midget Genis with his amazing magic attacks. He gets so strong at the end of the game it's almost unreal. If I need to switch a character out, usually Sheena gets swapped.

  5. I went into town and picked this one up today. Props to Jordan for letting me know this interesting concept even existed. I'll post impressions after I make substaintial progress. Or maybe when I get back from work. Needless to say I was instantly impressed by the presentation. Controls need a little getting used to.

  6. Can't wait to DO A BARREL ROLL Revolution-style. The controller design could be implemented into lots of the games that already exist, and I'm pretty sure the next Mario game will showcase this new control method perfectly.

I want all the classics to be there, as well as a plethora of new and exciting titles. The great thing about Revolution is that games can only appear using this unique control method on it. People looking for standard control schemes will buy on a competitor's machine. With Nintendo this generation you're not only getting their beloved franchises and mascots... you're also getting this rather unique way to play games. Quite a bargain, nicht?

  7. Just wait and see what they do with this concept, although it does feel a tad restrictive taking into account the kind of games this thing will be useable in. Expect plenty of first person shooters, Mario Parties and probably a bunch of fighting games that somehow use this system to deal blows. Basically what we're looking at is a companion piece to the Nintendo DS, which I'll admit hasn't exactly BLOWN me away thus far aside Jump Superstars, but the real meat of the games are due soon so we'll see.

All I feel that's left to say is... roll on Revolution.

  8. Wow. This is certainly nothing like I was expected. I think I'll have to wait and play it for myself before passing judgement, but can't help shake that initial surge of confusion. The only thing I can liken this to is that sword-based fighter in arcades which was quite cool from what I remember.

Hopefully we'll get some great ideas for this system, and all our favourites will no doubt appear followed by a slightly tweaked/modernised GameCube controller update. Nintendo could at least add a real analogue stick onto the C stick, and perhaps streamline it a little more how their current generation console will look.

Current thoughts? Confusion, mixed with excitement. Is this Nintendo's bold new direction or a step forward into madness?

  9. Majority of the comments were always detrimental to the website, Nintendo or other posters anyway. Requiring registration to comment will now filter out the people who aren't worth having around. Hopefully it'll add a roster of colourful new characters to the forum in the process, replacing those who haven't made the transition.

  10. Well, I have to be somewhere at 9:30am tomorrow morning, so no all-nighter tonight for me. I'll have to catch up on the newest details (if there are any) in the morning here at our brand spanking new Nintendo website.

Man, it smells new here. Like the smell when you pull the selophane off a new game and it smells like a Malaysian child-labour factory. That kinda new smell.

  11. Why do I keep getting this message:

"There seems to have been a slight problem with the database.

Please try again by pressing the refresh button in your browser.

An E-Mail has been dispatched to our Technical Staff, who you can also contact if the problem persists.

    We apologise for any inconvenience"

It's early days. The forum ONLY just launched, and the server is probably quite clogged with registrations. I'm told we've had around 87 members in 38 minutes. Don't be too surprised if things go bang in a little while. Teething problems that will be ironed out with age.

Stop worrying about it, I've gotten the same message numerous times. A simple refresh will amend the issue.

  12. Welcome to the happy place, brought to you by the convenience of Quick Reply. I can see posting being a lot more pleasurable now, especially with this fancy-pants text editing window you guys have concocted. Nice to meet you too, Matt. I game on Xbox Live! as The3rdChildren with the rest of these scallywags.
