  1. Marbles! Balance Challenge

I've been all around Leeds today an couldn't find it anywhere. Only HMV and Gamestation had Little King's Story as well...
  2. The Conduit

I'm in that minority too. So many games get rushed before meeting strict release targets and inevetably the games suffer overall. Remember how much Wind Waker, Metroid Prime, Smash Bros Brawl got pushed back. You can't rush perfection. I'm also massively hyped for the Contwoit
  3. Formula 1 2009

Yeah I've noticed, a bit unfair really as it's not exactly Schumacher/Ferrari circa 2002... yet I'm looking forward to what will probably be a good race tomorrow, with some rain 10 laps from the end.
  4. PES 2009 Pro Evolution Soccer

Anyone who wants this buy it now for only £19.71 at ASDA! Picked it up today and while I think it's much better than '08 I'm still not 100% adjusted to the idea of playing football with the Wii-mote. It's very hard at first but I'm sure I'll get there eventually. I'll post my FC later for some online fun.
  5. Political Compass

Can't be bothered re-doing this but I'm very similar to the OP.
  6. Formula 1 2009

Well done to Vettel for grabbing the pole. It's going to be an interesting race with everyone 'observatating' Vettel from behind. It wouldn't surprise me if the top 3 were fuelled lightly. Guess we'll find out ina couple of hours.
  7. **OMFG!!**GIGATON!!**

    Kid Icarus - Confirmed!
  8. Luigi's Mansion Wii

No I can't blame you! I'd love to see this on Wii, it's one of my favourtie GC titles. I'd prefer a sequal but it would be good if more people could expereince it through new play control. I'm happy with the GC version though so I'd personally give it a miss.
  9. Luigi's Mansion Wii

As IGN pointed out in the podcast this week, it wouldn't work as the suction and blowing motion on the vaccum required the analogue control of the L and R buttons of the Gamecube pad. The Wii has no analogue buttons so it would be very tricky to pull it off well, unless nintendo have something intuitive up their sleeves.
  10. Anyone remember this

I'll get back to you after I've blown in it a bit more and tried it on my brother's N64.
  11. The Conduit

I assumed that in free-for-all you can hear everyone around you (up to six people) but in Team deathmatch you could hear the whole team (which would be up to 6 people). Am I wrong, because this could and certainly would work???
  12. Anyone remember this

! MY COPY WON'T WORK! AAAAAAAAAAGGGGH!
  13. Anyone remember this

    Best. Game. Ever.
  14. Wii Sports Resort

Tax is only 6-8% in most states as well, so we are getting ripped off, by about £20 at least. On a DSi that is. £20 is surely the maximum they should charge for WM+. £15 would be lovely.
  15. The Conduit

There's no point in comparing screens as they're on two completely different machines. Compare The Conduit to COD:WAW on the wii or Red Steel but Not Halo 3 or Killzone 2 because it's obvious how much better the graphics are on a HD machine.. For a Wii game it has good, but not great graphics. It has excellent effects though.
  16. The Conduit

I despise war. Particularly in it's rawest form, as seen in all of the COD and MOH games. I enjoyed Halo 1 (the first 3 levels are amazing!) but found it too repetative and dull by the time I got to the library, the online multiplayer is OK in the other 2 but the single player games just dont interst me at all, bored after about 2 or 3 levels. I actually had timesplitters 2 on the Xbox and loved it, wasn't at all keen on Future Perfect, can't remember why. I'm not just saying this because I'm 'nintendo fanboy.' People mock me to this day for liking Red Steel, yes it had issues because it was a rushed launch title, but the potential was there and the setting and pace of the game was incredible. I know the Conduit will probably have this and Red Steel did but I f**king HATE ressurecting health bars and checkpoints. Ever since Halo 1 it's become the norm. This is why Goldeneye and Perfect Dark stood out for me because the way you approached them was completely different and in my opinion better and more rewarding.
  17. The Conduit

I think the Conduit does have some personality, Ok not as much as Timesplitters did, but the story is certainly interseting. I assume as the game progresses the enemies become bigger, darker and more powerful. It's sci-fi nature means that the game will probably start off in basic 'futuristic realism' before digressing much more into fiction, this in particular has me very interested. Watching the developers videos above and seeing some of the encoded hints that they have left throughout the game says to me that (if pulled off well) the story could be a huge plus point. I'm remaining optimistic about this despite what all the naysayers believe and yes, the controls and online will be something to rave about and I can see this being the best FPS I've played since Perfect Dark. (I Hate Killzone, Halo and COD btw )
  18. The Conduit

In a way I see this game as the spiritual sequal to Timesplitters. A no frills, action shooting game with great, varied environments and objective based tasks. If the game delivers on that I'll be happy. If it's similar to Red Steel but improves on most aspects, which it seems to, I can't see how I personally will be dissapointed.
  19. N64 + 38 Games = JOY!

That's a sweet collection Nando! I sold my N64 to buy a gamecube so all my games have been re-bought and the only box I have is Perfect Dark. Here's my collection though. I'm fairly proud of it but it's missing Banjo-Tooie, Conker's BFD and a couple of other classics I haven't found yet. On the Wii's VC I have: Cruis'n USA Mario Kart 64 Paper Mario Sin and Punishment Star Fox 64 Zelda: OOT N64 carts: Banjo-Kazooie Beetle Adventure Racing Blast Corps Body Harvest Diddy Kong Racing Donkey Kong 64 Excitebike 64 F-1 World Grand Prix 2 F-Zero X Goldeneye Jet Force Gemini Mission: Impossible Perfect Dark Pilotwings 64 Pokemon Snap Re-Volt Rocket: Robot on Wheels (EPIC!) Shadowman Star Wars Racer Top Gear Rally Top Gear Rally 2 Turok Dinosaur Hunter Turok 2: Seeds of Evil World Driver Championship
  20. N64 + 38 Games = JOY!

Top Gear Raly was just superb, I spent all last night playing it and there's so many little details I'd forgotton about. The weather system and how it affects handling, there is a physical damage model (doesn't affect how you drive though, like in TGR2). As mentioned, the reflections in the jungle level, Creating your own designs on cars! This game was way ahead of its time and pulled everything off so well. Boss Games went on to make World Driver Championship which was also excellent stood up superbly next to Grn Turismo on the PS1. The N64's most realistic racer with an abundance of tracks and beautiful graphics. I've never played TGO and I'm not as keen on TGR2, despite it's excellent random track generator which meant there was unlimited tracks on the game, superb. MRC was absolutly diabolical. Only 3 tracks and 1 car that you could actually drive successfully. By far the worst xmas present I ever did recieve. Roadsters Trophy was a fun little game. Beetle Adventure Racing was my personal favourite simply because of the stunning track design and massive challenge it presented in getting 100 points on every level. Plus the multiplayer battle mode was as good as if not better than Mario Kart 64. Ahhh so many great memories of racing games. One thing that I've noticed and that really bugs me about the next-gen is the real lack of creativity that's apparent in most 360 and PS3 racers. All developers seem to want to do nowadays is create the most realistic simulations of real-life circuits or cities. After playing through some of these games again the wholly original circuit and location designs really stand out as something much more memorable and fun to play instead of driving through London and trying to sopt a Pizza Hut or Jessops at the side of the road. Beetle Adventure Racing and World Driver are 2 games that stand out in my opinion. On the one hand BAR uses inspirations from various places i.e the Mediteranian for the volcano level with picturesque Itallian villages, sandy beaches and the heart of an active volcano. Obviously it's completely unrealistic but is so memorable and fits in well with the feel of the game. Then you have World Driver, a die hard simulation which takes a few unique looking countries where the designers have created original tracks based around the 'look' and 'feel' of the country. They don't map them to real roads, they design their own circuits around their own landscape and architecture which fits in with the country's image. This way they can design whatever tack they want. I always thought that this was something that was missing from the next-gen, where the focus on realism goes too far. The N64 was the last bastion of immagination in serious racing games with tracks that were designed from scratch rather than copied down to the last detail.
  21. N64 + 38 Games = JOY!

Cracked my N64 out today had an absoulte blast on Top Gear Rally, Cruis'n USA and Excitebike. Yes, I love my racing games. Top Gear Rally (imo) is still great by today's standards, the framerate is solid, the graphics are ok and while the handling is challenging but very rewarding. The other 2 ain't aged so well. Perfect Dark also hasn't aged brilliantly (framerate wise). But it amazed me at how ahead of its it was. REAL TIME LIGHTING FFS! It does things Xbox 360 game developers are just too lazy to do. The level design and music are superb. I finished the whole single player campaign in just over an hour all the while I remembered just how good FPS's used to be before they were whored to death on the 360. Multiplayer online? Pah!
  22. Formula 1 2009

I don't think Jenson will run away with it. I hope he wins it because he is a spectacular driver and he has needed a good car since he began in F1. I hope the Toyotas put up a good fight because I love that team and both their drivers as well. It will be an intersting season and probably the most exciting for years. As the other teams progress it will be intersting to see how the grid changes (and just how good the Brawn car is, because my betting is it's excellent and will be at or very close to the front all year). Keep an eye out for Red Bull as well as they don't have the DD Diffuser and they are extremely quick at the moment, especially in the wet. It's going to be a great season! Let's get on with the racing!
  23. Formula 1 2009

Looks like this season is going to be immense! :D http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/7996698.stm
  24. N64 on HDTV

Will an RGB Scart cable from the gamecube work with an N64 or does it need to be modded to output RGB?
