Right, my Brawl code is 1203-9168-8807 if anyone fancies a game this weekend. I've only tried a couple of Random matches and they were laggy as hell, so hopefully it'll speed up. I still won though! : peace:

You realise you'll have to pay for it when it comes out over here too? And that buying Brawl from Videogamesplus and a Freeloader is still cheaper than Brawl will be over here to buy from a shop? Still, there is risk involved in the Freeloader now that Nintendo have the power to do mandatory console updates.

I broke that game's box chucking it at my wall in anger. Luckily the game wasn't in the box at the time. I think it was either Battle of Endor or Cloud City...

(digs out collection - oh yeah!) 1. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker It's going to sound astonishing, but this isn't just my favourite GameCube game, or even my favourite Zelda game (which it is, and that's staggering enough to most people), but it's my favourite console game of all time. Yes, I know it's easier than most (if not all) of the other Zelda games. But that just makes it more fun to play and less annoying. The storyline dispenses with Hyrule and Epona. It's also the most original Zelda story, and arguably the darkest. The kingdom you've saved countless times was taken over by Ganon and then obliterated! The graphics aren't realistic or gritty. But they also won't age, ever. This game will still be a looker years from now, and Twilight Princess will look as good as Ocarina of Time now does. Using the King of Red Lions boat isn't as fun as horseback. It's also so incredibly relaxing! Until a gigantic Kraken suddenly appears out of the sea! And the music... no, I can't find a single fault with the music. It contains all the cool old Zelda tunes and brings a load of brilliant ones in as well. Who can forget Dragon Roost Island? I have played Wind Waker to FULL completion twice, all statuettes, all hearts. I've barely completed the storyline with all the other major Zeldas once. I love Twilight Princess, and will play it again. But Wind Waker just holds more originality and sheer joy for me. 2. Super Smash Bros. Melee My most played game of all time. I hope to one day find a group as dedicated to Smash Bros as my University housemates again. Good times. And I was the ONLY one of us to get the Final Destination level. 3. Resident Evil 4 It's simply astonishing how good this game is, and that it stays that good until the very end. It is a gigantic game. You can play for hours and hours and hours and not reach the end of Disc 1. Whoever says that shorter games means better quality obviously hasn't played Resident Evil 4. 4. Metroid Prime The greatest comeback ever. If Metroid Prime 3 hadn't buggered up by introducing those stupid "find the Power Cell" missions I would've said that was the best game in the series - instead that honour remains with the first Prime. One shall stand, one shall fall! 5. Super Mario Sunshine Yes yes yes, not as good as we'd hoped. But goddammit, it's still a damn fine and incredibly enjoyable game, packed with imagination. The GameCube was a fine example of Nintendo's desire to go somewhere new with its franchises. Fans just complained, so they went somewhere new with the hardware instead. You idiots. 6. Eternal Darkness This game still terrifies me. I love the sanity effects, but I stay for the excellent and superbly-acted storyline. And you can't go wrong when the main bad guy is Skeletor. He's got the staff and everything! 7. Star Wars - Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II The best arcadey Star Wars flyie game ever. The only time the series (or Factor 5) made a game that was just perfect. No matter how irritating. 8. Luigi's Mansion Yes, short, barely more than a tech demo, but I love it so. When Bowser turned up... and the Boos... wow! 9. Sonic Adventure 2: Battle Sorry F-Zero and Mario Kart, the last two slots are remakes. And although Sonic Adventure is the superior 3D Sonic game, the GameCube DX: Director's Cut was hashed up so badly the crown goes to the launch game. This game got me back into Sonic after about seven years of hedgehog-less gaming. And - whisper it - was the game that nudged me into buying the GameCube on launch day for. 10. Resident Evil Three words: Crimson Head Zombies. If you don't bring these back in a proper Resident Evil game ever again Capcom I will very annoyed. They were genius. And ****ed me up BAD.

Is anyone else having their arses handed to them by the AI opponents? In Melee I was happily taking down three Level 9 opponents with ease - now I'm struggling with Level 5! And Ganondorf KO'd me too, the swine. I'll put my friend code on as soon as I remember how to find the damn thing.

It is a really underhanded tactic. I mean I wouldn't mind so much if it was just a couple of games, but four games?! £329.99? I also wouldn't mind if you could choose your games. All the titles on the Bundle seem, with the exception of Sonic, to be from launch. Still, at least they're mostly good games and not something like Super Fruitfall like Toys R Us do with their bundles. As stated, GAME have now changed this policy. They now accept no returns whatsoever unless unopened.

Virtual Console - All you need to know

Hey there - just browsed the Wii Shop a moment ago and found something interesting. Apparently Mario Kart 64 (which I've already downloaded) has been 'Updated'. If I click on it, it gives me the option to Update my version. It's free, but takes up another 201 points of memory. Anyone done this update and know what it does? -
This is very frightening information. I assume your GameCube pad is plugged in and (if it's a Wavebird) is turned on and working fine? And is in the Player One slot (the one nearest the Wii's front)? Check the Wii Settings if it is, as there may be an option to enable GC pads for VC use. If there isn't, then you may have to email or call Nintendo Customer Support and get back to us with their reply. I could just imagine Nintendo blocking PAL Wiis from using the Freeloader and then stopping us from using GameCube pads for the VC, instead forcing to buy another over-priced bit of hardware.

Okay guys, I've been having this problem as well with every single disc I have. Occasionally (about 1 in 3 times at the mo) when I put a disc in the drive it will make funny clicking noises as if the disc was skipping. Every time it happens I solve it by taking the disc out as soon as I start hearing the ticking sounds, and immediately put it back in again. The disc will 'tick' once, and load perfectly. Every time. An incredible nuisance, and I think it's something do with having the Wii standing up instead of laying flat, but there's no excuse Nintendo. It's solveable and just mildly irritating, but it's still a problem that shouldn't be there. I can't see any borders, and I've got a tiny crap TV. You may need to adjust your Wii Settings, accessed from the main Home page. Have you set your TV to 60Hz, as apparently Nintendo still believe that 60Hz is a rarity when actually it's 50Hz that's rare now? Actually I've got a question now: has anyone had the hideous Wii Destroying Error Messages that some US gamers got with a Firmware update? Because I'm not going to connect my Wii to the Net until I'm absolutely sure that my Wii isn't going to be killed!

Very very good, haven't seen any problems at all. I can't even say that for Zelda all the time. Of course, I've got my Wii set to 60Hz. Make sure you do that on the Wii Settings page. For some reason Nintendo still thinks everyone has 50Hz TVs...

Utterly hilarious. While minigame collections aren't exactly going to be rare on the Wii, this beat Monkey Ball for me, just because the Bunnies are much funnier. And, to top it all off, UbiSoft have licensed several really cool songs for use in several of the games. For example, the first racing game is set to Misirlou (the song everyone associates with Pulp Fiction). However, I do have a couple of complaints. 1. Even though the manual says that Story Mode saves after completing a minigame, that's not true at all. Or if it is, it doesn't always work. 2. Some of the games are really, really frustrating. Or, use the Nunchuk when the Remote would have made much more sense (and been more accurate - I'm looking at you, 'Bunnies Don't Close Doors').

Can fully confirm this rather annoying rumour. I've got the latest Freeloader, and the Wii simply does not recognise the disc at all. It's not a case of running the Freeloader software and then not being able to change discs afterwards, it doesn't even see the Freeloader disc as anything playable. It's exactly the same message that comes up with import games - not "This is not a PAL disc", just "We're sorry, but we can't read this disc". Bugger. Guess I'm keeping my GameCube plugged in after all. While only a few games of mine are imports, they are some of the best games available and ones I still play like Wind Waker, Metroid Prime and Resident Evil 4.
