Cheapness, definitely go with the OG model then. I'm sure there will be unofficial price cuts to move stock out. From what I've read, the Pro is about an inch longer and wider, but the same height.

Everything does look pretty great (Fury upscaled to 4K, fantastic). I'm just still dialing in settings and trying to get blacks that aren't grey still. (Bobs Burgers specifically washes out the blacks, other media is more accurate.) Like I said games definitely look great though. Yeah, a larger size was a bigger shopping point to me. I sit far enough away that 50" was a hair too small for some text. So OLED was right out. I was sort of thinking of going with Samsung 4K, but somehow I just preferred the Sony model. I do enjoy that it has component inputs actually unlike the Samsung! My PS3 slim quit outputting through HDMI about 5 years ago so component is it for it.

Yeah, if you can wait the extra month before diving in I don't see much reason to forgo getting the Pro. The price is more, but it's a somewhat more capable machine as well.

I'm sad though. I should've waited for OLED to become affordable like I tried telling myself I would. Gaming it performs just as well as my plasma, but Netflix the Blacks just aren't there in some things. Oh well, it's just a fantastic picture.

I bought a 350 chest piece from the Vangaurd and infused that with my War Numen chest. Not positive but I think it had the Iton symbol.

Clunky ass cutscene story telling. Did a couple missions, they feel a bit more Halo in a small way. Not sure the Plaguelands are going to grab me the same way the Dreadnaught did though. It's nice that I seem to be getting good drops though designed to level with. Bought a 350 chest piece, and all drops have been 320 until I hit 322 and now they're all 330. Definitely designed to actually help people progress their level. Can only do a couple hours per night though sadly.

I can't believe I had forgotten this. I'm not sure if Classical music counts as licensed but it's certainly not original to the game, and it's bloody fantastic in the game. (skip to about 15 seconds in) Episode 11 of Asuras Wrath, the fight with Augus. A top moment in gaming really.

P.T. The sound obviously helps to set the atmosphere, but more than that it had a actual gameplay mechanic. Listening for the double footsteps, to know if it's safe or not, the requirement of an actual headset/microphone just to beat the demo. No More Heroes The boss themes were particularly fantastic, and every sound effect was essentially a tell of some sort. Incoming attacks, blocked attacks, low battery, battery full. Simple things, but useful and under utilized in some games that could use audio tells.

I haven't played in about 8 months. One successful CoE card and some strikes later, I've gone from 300 to 315 in a week. And by Tuesday I bet those 15 levels are irrelevant.

Nabbing Capcom as a dev is certainly good news. Though Capcom has always seemed to willing to risk releasing on Nintendo (dead rising Wii anyone?). But still good news. With any luck the next Dead Rising or even something similar to the DR triple pack could also release. Almost certainly a good chance for Monster Hunter. And an unlikely wish for more Devil May Cry. Though I think Capcom has already decided to be done with the series (and sadly Bayonetta makes a good case for not releasing it on Nintendo anyway.)

You might still dislike it. In my opinion and experience even post update the Xbox One OS is sluggish and a rather poor user experience.

Moonrise Kingdom is probably one of my favorites now that I've seen it. It's just such a grand happy film with well placed comedy. Haven't yet seen Grand Budapest Hotel though, and Pans Labyrinth is an old favorite I should have bought ages ago. I have V for Vendetta, but never finished reading it. Didn't grasp me very well :/

A lot of people have 4K TVs, or have interest in them. Most market projections show 4K as a relatively booming market with millions sold worldwide this year. I won't say they aren't a luxury item, but the prices of 4K vs 1080p TVs are extremely close to the point most people in the market for a TV will likely make the jump to 4K. It's not exactly an emerging market at this point, it's established and growing. As a bullshit guess, I wouldn't be surprised if 4K market penetration now is higher than HDTV (720/1080) penetration was 2005/2006 when the 360 and PS3 released tailored to HDTV gaming.

Pans Labyrinth is going to be 10 years old this year. As good a reason as any to rewatch it. Course I had to buy a copy as well.
