Oh I see where you are getting at maybe but its kind of word games in a sense althouh maybe your right about the governments objectives. However im willing to bet in fact I would say its just plain facts voilence and murder was commited during this period becasue someone was an athiest against a religious person. Now this may have been an excuse becuase they didnt like them say like the witch accusations of the middle ages or it may have genunally been because of ideological belief and a group purification mentality that is what lies at the root of religous voilence not religious teaching (at least I can say that in the case of christianity I know the teaching doesnt justify killing people because they disagree with you).

Hmm I dont understand your point. You say it wasnt done in the name of atheism just by people who happened to be athiests. But then you go on to admit that athiesm was the dominant view that was being installed into people. Athiest extreme bombers maybe not. Atheist killers? Yes and by that I mean killers whose motive is athiesm above any religion the soviet union and china is a prime example of this. To be fair at least they were equality based they killed christians muslims and confucanism followers. I think in the bible their is a clear message and it isnt followed by most people even the diciples stuggled at times. I understand were you are coming from and have verdged towards being an atheist at many points in my life even though the fish may find taht hard to believe :p but I think christanity illumantes the human condition like nothing else. Ah good news this is the way to go study everything and make your own mind up. Are you a christian still or not? I ask you these questions about islam because frankly all we here is this divide of extreme and normal muslims that the press and governments feeds us. And people say these things but dont reference the koran at all so I want someone who has read it to make these claims and back them up.

Ok and really dont worry about offending anyone its good to have views and discuss them that the difference between our society and sudan. Ok to address two points. Christainity at first was a revolutionary cult that was a worry to the political roman order and a complete threat to judaism. In a sense the worst thing that happened to christanity historically is that it got involved in politics something that jesus did not want. The thing is you cant genralise religion as a thing if you want to talk about christanity with me we can talk about it using primary sources looking at it historically etc its a unique theory and should be treated as such. Ok second point I completley disagree as a history student that religion going away = no war no conflict etc. I think this is one of the big falsehoods of our age and because of 9/11 it will become more popular. Power and Pride are the two big things why wars and conflicts start tommorow when I wake up a bit if you want me to prove this point I pretty much I would say I pretty much can. The thing is when you say religion causes war I will only speak for christainty its not christian teaching that causes war its people aligining themselves with a group mentality to christianity and despising anyone who isnt the same. This is completley opposite to the viewpoint of christianity. The good samaritan story told 2000 years ago is a completley revolutionary view that for all the human progress in the world since then and secularisation is still as far away being achieved now as it was then. All im trying to say is look at things more in depth as the outcomes might suprise you.

I dont doubt you I would just be interested to see them. Have you read any of the Bible or other holy books? To just call religion absolute nonsense is a massive oversimplification and if you had studied them all indepth objectively then maybe I could understand.

Anyone actually know if the Koran says this stuff should happen? I dont want to hear Islam is a peaceful religion with no knowledge of it I want someone whose read the Koran and has full knowledge. The archbishop today said reading the koran as it is is a bad thing but why? If its true then surely its right to do this. My personal opinion is its not and this is complete crap considering the intent to insult anyone wasnt there and to kill someone over this either Islam has to be completley correct or this is an excuse and an awful day for lots of people mostly the woman in question. People say fundementalism like its a bad word an insult. But all it actually means is to follow the fundementals of a religion. If someone followed christianty to the tee they would not be anything like the people who get labelled as fundementalists like the guys who shoot abortion clinic people I gaurentee you this. That is christian nationalism and is something very very different. Not knowing to much about the koran is this what it would recommened doing or is it to coin a phrase Islam nationlism. If it is it can go and die in a corner because not only is that crap but the intent as I said was in no way their to insult anyone. If its the koran we should have a debate about it and try and prove them wrong and also demand the safe return of the woman whose been accused of this.

Anyway should still get up but the fact that I have all away games now I think will put me out of title contention unless cube and threezok slip up. Need to make big changes for next year may struggle to stay up otherwise especially with the form of the top guys in upper league.

Well old chap my eloquence has seemed to depart from me in a rather unfortunate set of events. I may label myself a mere nincompoop but I feel I would be undoing my previous ornate style of writing and legitimising this repulsive slang filled compression ridden style that I have now undertaken. Um yeh I dont know lol. Did I ever type good? Ive had to type loads of essays maybe my brain relaxes to much when I get here if you ask bluey she still thinks im a posh bastard who speaks well so fear not! Oh anyway my day so far not good I keep waking up early... Ive ltierally no idea why and then my body wants to collapse at 2pm. Which is when I have a lecture today great just great...

Classic! Top of the league for the first ever time. Big game on friday though a draw will definatly be a good result from that glad Ive got my goal tally up a bit. Our league seems to have split a bit but to everyone dont give up keep playing and remember to keep the form up on your players train them and rotate them according to form. Next season I think the leagues will be much more balanced so even if your not doing well this time next time it should even out a lot.
