  1. At times I felt I was watching a movie/it was a cut scene when actually I was meant to be in control.

    That happened to me 3 times! :D

    It's certainly got very impressive presentation.

    A word of advice to people though, don't click "play anyway" if the game tells you that your graphics card is not up to date like I did. I was beating the hell out of the dinos and then - Crash! :heh:

    I think I'll get a new driver before playing it again.

  2. Ok, I came up with an idea for a creative thread.

    First make a song in something like eJay. Then upload to something like Putfile then other people can listen to it and rate it!

    Ill start, heres mine that took me about 5 miniutes on eJay: My song

    Have Fun!

    Cool idea.

    I like your song, it's got that kind of C64 retro style sound to it and for some reason reminds me of Goldeneye too. :hmm:

    Anyway I don't have eJay, but here is a track I made using Electroplankton, and put together in Sound Forge:

    Plankton1

    The sample is from some old black and white film that was on TV at the time.

  3. RedShell, how dare you slag off Contra and Gradius! :angry:

    But even if we take those in to consideration you're still left with a rubbish majority.

    My point here isn’t that Konami makes crap games, it's that they don't generally make good ones for Nintendo anymore. They're too comfortable with the whole playing it safe on the Playstation routine. Whereas at least Capcom aren’t afraid to take some risks once in a while.

  4. You seem to have forgotten Konami's immense support for the GBA, a whopping 41 titles:

    Boktai: The Sun is in Your Hand

    Boktai 2: Solar Boy Django

    Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow

    Castlevania: Circle of the Moon

    Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance

    Contra Advance: The Alien Wars EX

    Deadly Skies

    Jurassic Park 3: DNA Factor

    Jurassic Park 3: Park Builder

    Konami Collectors Series: Arcade Classics

    Yu-Gi-Oh! Worldwide Edition: Stairway to the Destined Duel

    Zone of the Enders: The Fist of Mars

    Thanks for reminding me but I think I'd rather forget.

    Anyway, now that you've shown me this list of Konami GBA games perhaps (with the exception of Castlevania) you'd like to point out some good games in that list of complete and utter shite.

  5. Have they released any Twinbee games lately? Pop'n Twinbee for SNES is like my favourite game on the machine...

    If they have they kept it bloody quiet but yeah I love that game too, still play it occasionally. :wink:

    only thing that annoys me is that ill have to buy it again

    Are you serious, for just five extra hours and a new gun!?

    Even if I did have a PS2 I wouldn’t buy the game again, unless I could get it for a fiver, or less!

  6. I agree with Sooj.

    I'm especially pissed off with Konami though,:mad: to me they are the real "back stabbers" I mean the amount of quality games they released on the Nes and Snes and then they go on to all but completely ignore the N64 and Gamecube.

    I've got like 3 Konami games in my N64 and Gamecube collection:

    Mystical Ninja (N64) – only decent Konami game on a Nintendo system since the Snes days.

    ISS2 (GCN) – glitch infested poor mans Pro Evo.

    Metal Gear: TTS (GCN) - and that's debateable as it was pretty much 100% Silicon Knights.

    What makes this more annoying is that they have many franchises that are so well suited to be on Nintendo systems, i.e. Parodius, TwinBee, Mystical Ninja...

    Although they do seem to be supporting the DS a bit better I'd still like to see them release more games on Nintendo’s home consoles, a Gamecube version of Pro Evo 5 would be a good fucking start!

    Konami rant over. :heh:

    Anyway in response to the original topic, well no I don't think Capcom are back stabbers at all, they've given Nintendo loads of titles and creating RE4 for the Gamecube took some balls!

    Now I just hope Konami can grow some balls too.

    Sorry - Konami rant really over now. :hehe:

  7. I sent you a PM with a link that should answer all of your DPL2 questions.

    (and for the people with resident evil 4) all my friends say that if the chainsaw man/women is behind you you realy hear the chainsaw behind you is this true?

    Yes this is true, you can tell where enemies are just from the sound, and Resident Evil 4 has a great surround sound mix that definitely enhances the game experience.

  8. roadkill(or someone else) what comes the closest to dd5.1 dolby p logic1 or 2?

    DPL2 without shadow of a doubt.

    By the way check out this site for good deals on AV Receivers and speakers:

    Richer Sounds

    Pretty much everything has DPL2 onboard now so I wouldn’t worry about it too much, If possible you should try and get a system with both Dolby Digital and DTS so you're set up for future consoles too.

  9. Hey Twilight_Link,

    I remember when I was trying to sort out my surround sound setup a while back now, it was a right pain in the arse!

    I ended up getting my receiver from Richer Sounds as they're pretty cheap yet still have good stuff:

    RECEIVERS

    SPEAKERS

    If getting separates is too much hassle or too expensive, you could always try looking at All-In-One systems:

    PACKAGES

    I was trying to get an All-In-One setup after my first receiver died but getting one that would work with the Gamecube proved impossible as every one I looked at would only decode DPL2 from a CD or DVD present in the system and not from an externally connected source i.e. Gamecube, So I just got another receiver.

    But maybe the situation with these has changed now as it's been a long time since then so it might be worth a look as they can be a lot cheaper than a separates system.

    Anyway hope that helps,

    Good Luck.

  10. I think there should only be 2 launch games from Nintendo themselves and make up the rest with 3rd party titles, I’d go with:

    A good single player game like Metroid or Mario (more likely) and a primarily multiplayer based game like Warioware or Smash Bros. (again more likely).

    Then 2 weeks after launch another 1st party game (assuming the previous week has seen 3rd party releases). And from that point onwards at least one 1st party title a month.

    Oh – and a steady release of downloadable retro games too. :wink:

  11. Here, one question to put to you: How could the skipping game be simulated on the Revolution?

    Maybe if the perspective was changed so you are looking to the side of the character that’s jumping, with the other end of the rope ahead of you to the opposite side of the character (hope this is making sense :grin: ) and then you rotate the controller in a circular motion to spin the rope? A bit like in Nintendogs with the stylus. :heh:

  12. The moment I saw the revolution controller and realized what it could do, one game immediately came in to my mind…

    …Warioware!

    As I’m currently playing through Warioware: Twisted on the GBA it’s become clear to me that the Revolution is the perfect new home for this fantastic franchise and I for one hope to see it become a reality on the system.

    A couple of things I’d like to see in a Revolution version would be a retro section made up of N64 classics, and the use of real life video footage for the realistic minigames.

    Here are a few mock-up screen shots I created:

    nw15ed.jpg

    nw1move5hj.jpg

    nw26bz.jpg

    nw34mo.th.jpg

    nw49ai.th.jpg

    nw55as.th.jpg

    nw80gd.th.jpg

    So if anyone has any Ideas on how the controller could be used, or what they’d like to see in a new Warioware game on Revolution please post them here.

  13. How does the game play using a GC pad?

    I’ve got it set up like ISS2 (only footiee game I own for the cube despite all its glitches) so it’s:

    B = shoot

    A = pass

    Y = through ball

    X = cross

    L = cursor

    R = run

    One thing I’ve noticed though is that I can’t seem to get true analogue control, I’ve got movement mapped to the stick but it’s just using it like a d-pad with only 4 directions.

    Apart from that though it plays great, got the C-Stick set up for step-overs too! Something that was lacking in ISS2.

  14. i HEAR its supposed to be eventually

    however, look for a pic of iwata holding it above his head, it looks abotu as long as i'm going to need it, hell, if it were 2 pieces, i'd probably lose one anyway :S

    Yeah good point.

    I’ve got a feeling they might make the cable a little bit longer than the one on the prototype, plus as much as a completely wireless setup would rule I don’t think it’ll be feasible without having a serious impact on the battery life anyway.
