What a con job. There should be laws against fraud like that. EA. They're on a roll. Here's some encouraging quotes from Matt Prior, Producer, FIFA 13, Wii U: "In terms of where this is at, it's not FIFA 12 point two," Prior said, "because there's a lot of enhancements from 12, but it's not FIFA 13 either. It's kind of somewhere in between at a core level". There are several features missing from the Wii U version including "Ultimate Team". Ultimate Team is an online service that allows customers to create football teams from a group of randomly selected football stars. Progress allows users to earn in-game currency, as well as improve the value of their players, who can then be traded in an online auction site. Edit: Just to add Madden Wii U is having the same fate and several similar features have been cut also.

You know what makes matters even worse? The one platform where the trilogy is really needed is the Wii U. All the other platforms have had some of the games if not all of them. Whereas alot of Nintendo fans like myself are new to the series and would be more interested in playing the trilogy. I doubt many Xbox owners want to pay again for something they've already played. Never have liked EA, this just ensures that ME3 for the Wii U bombs faster than a lead turd. If you do buy it for Wii U, you'll be given a recap of the first 2 games so if the trilogy is later announced for Wii U then they'll have ruined the previous stories surprises. EA= Effing Assholes.

I agree with every bit of that especially about Madworld. It's repetitive and boring. I completed The Conduit but I can't for the life of me remember the ending. I liked it overall.

I have to agree with @/nando/ there is no stand out title. Every other launch had something really exceptional and exclusive. Not this time. Blops 2 maybe is the closest but that's multiplatform. Zombii U, it's hard to know, I keep remembering Red Steel. A lot of ports, late ports, yet we're expected to pay full price. Nintendos effort is lazy in my view. Nintendo Land, not interested in minigame collection. How much effort did NSMB U take? It's basically a remix of all that's gone before with a HD skin. Games this generation for Wii U will be more expensive now that Nintendo has entered the HD market. I don't think NSMB U is worth €60 or more. Even Pikmin 3 started out as a Wii game. We've yet to see Nintendo make the Wii U sweat. I know all that will come in time but it's not a jaw dropping start.

Region locking: good or bad? Are you serious? Is this even a real question? Of course this is bad from a consumer point of view. Name me one good aspect of region locking? Nintendo might like it for commercial reasons but it's a pain in the hole for everybody else.

This belongs in the general bargains thread.

1. Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Monster Hunter 3 3. Okami 4. Twilight Princess 5. Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6. Super Smash Bros. Brawl 7. Super Mario Galaxy 8. Wii Sports 9. Boom Blox: Bash Party 10. Little Kings Story(Haven't played it yet but I know I'll like it. Might have been higher, probably would have been higher but we'll never know now) Not happy at all about all the rushing. PES and TW lose out, probably won't even make the list now. I've chosen Boom Blox: Bash Party at no.9. Watch it drown in the chart but it was a great game.
-
That's from today. A vote for PES 2008 or TW12 gets diluted very easily if other years are chosen instead and let's face it there's not much difference between some years.
-
Or like Metroid Prime Trilogy/Metroid Prime 3? People have done that here.
-
Quick question. Can all the PES and Tiger Woods games be lumped into one? It makes more sense. There's too many of them and their votes will be diluted otherwise.
-
Welcome aboard @Kaepora Gaebora. Some other games you should pick up are Monster Hunter 3, Okami, Mario Galaxy 1/2 and Xenoblade. Check out the top 10 Wii games thread for other recommendations. I'd give Skyward Sword a miss though. It's overhyped and was disappointing.

(Closes Saturday)? What's with the rush? There are loads of people with backlogs, hence the other thread. The Wii is still for sale and the Wii U doesn't go on sale for over another 2 months. I alone have alot of games to get through, e.g. Little Kings Story. I'm not going to finish that in a day, it sounds like my kind of game and would probably make the list but won't if it shuts today. What time on Saturday does the thread close?

What??? Runs of the room to check it out. Wait. I remember this. Wasn't that just for people who bought all 3 games?
-
Ya because that's what I was talking about. While you're at it why not say the next Zelda will be a Starfox Assault clone?
-
@Magnus I get what you're saying about some of the things like all the abilities at the start but waiting for orders to use them but hell at least they tried something different. Guess what Mario is doing in his next game? Let's see, rescuing the P.......zzzzz Every game since year dot. Yawn! It certainly wasn't linear. Have you played Prime 3? As far as controls, I said earlier that the nunchuk should've been used.
-
I like the Prime series just in case there's any confusion. I just feel Metroid: Other M is more legitimate than Prime. Super Metroid is the pinnacle. A game that's nearly 20 years old and it's still to be topped. The wall jump was sandwiched into Prime 2 & 3 and could only be performed in set areas. Then look at the grapple beam, it was very basic when compared to the beam in Super Metroid. The screw attack is another example. Prime started out as a 3rd person adventure but they couldn't make it work. I think it was because Retro weren't able to but Nintendo a generation before managed with Zelda and Mario. I believe if it wasn't forked out and developed internally it could've been done. Why start off in 3rd person if 1st person is better? They couldn't cope with it. Retro did do a good job but things had to be sacrificed and I miss those things. M:OM brought them back. My idea for the Wii U would be a Metroid title with 3rd person on the TV and 1st person on the gamepad. If not that then a stunning 2D version ala Super Metroid.
-
Not true, part of the attraction of the 2D Metroids is the use of abilities that just aren't possible or as accurate in 3D. Samus is far less agile in the Prime series. She moves like a tank. Where's the space jump, screw attack and speed booster? 2D Metroid titles are far more faithful, Metroid Other M just needs some tinkering. I agree that the nunchuk should have been used.
-
Boo! Boo! There's very little wrong with Metroid: Other M. Sure some of the story I could take or leave. Overall though. It's a more legitimate heir to Metroid in terms of gameplay than the bastard triplets other wise known as the Prime series. Yes, you heard me correctly.
-
@Magnus No I think it's 4. 2 for upgrading Colony 6, 1 for the collectopedia and 1 for the collectibles chart. The reason I'm taking so long is because I collect everything. I'm like a beast on steroids, level 99, all 5 skill trees, pumped up art skills, perfect affinity with every character. I'm collecting every advanced manual, haven't bought a single 1. I'm doing every sidequest. I know I'm coming near the end, I'm at Bionis Interior, so I'm slowing down. I don't want the game to end.
-
Thanks but I found a better way earlier. Stand exactly over where you collect the blue orb on that ledge outside the heart, switch the time to 4.15p.m., save immediately. Then press the home button, reset the game and load up your file. You'll collect an orb straight away, if it's not a black bean liver just reset and repeat until you get one. It still takes a long time but it's quicker than the other methods I've heard. I had 1 earlier, I now have 5. Thanks though. How many are really needed? I think it's 4. Wait a minute, I'll try that. I didn't know they'd respawn if you warp back there. I'll get back to you. Edit: I tried your method, the orbs don't respawn when you warp back.
-
Black Liver Beans are the very definition of frustration!
-
Mark my words. Xenoblade is going to make it into your top 10. Just wait and see. Probably no.1 or thereabouts. I too am playing this game at the moment. I'm guessing that I'm about 3/4 if not more through the game(about to enter Bionis Interior through Junks) and it's my no.1 choice before I even finish it. It's awesome. In the same league as Tales Of Symphonia was on the Gamecube. Couldn't agree more too that Skyward Sword shouldn't make the list. It was a chore and was glad when it was over. One word describes this game. Lazy.

IGN is reporting that the European version will not include the Wii U sensor bar. WTF? http://ie.ign.com/articles/2012/09/13/wii-u-price-release-date-announced
