Did someone break their NDA and Matt swiftly removed it? Yeah I understand you guys, this seems a bit weird... I wasn´t sure either about putting it here... But after it went down I decided to put it on the forums, since there has to be something to it if Matt removes it. Now he puts it back in and has removed a paragraph. That must have been the reason for removing the article. Are Nintendo gonna show the new Game Boy at Leipzig?
-
Exactly what I was thinking. There is something big and interesting coming our way
-
Why did IGN remove it so quickly with the message of sources not wanting to go to jail today, and then put it back up with this paragraph missing? Did they find something out that Nintendo don´t want us to know until Leipzig? Only time will tell...
-
Hmmm... The article is back up... but an interesting part is missing... "Microsoft's Xbox 360 console is out and Sony announced a release date for PlayStation 3 months ago. So the big question is, when will Wii launch? The only official answer from Nintendo is sometime before the Thanksgiving holiday in America. But sources -- both on the hardware and development side -- argue that the console will be hitting much sooner. A number of big-name publishers are set to release their Wii games in mid-to-late October, which suggests that a system debut could not be that far off. And several insiders have told IGN that November 2 could, in fact, be the big day. Thing is, not all of our contacts are in agreement on the date. Some have suggested that November 12 could, instead, by Wii's launch date. Regardless, though, it seems that Wii fans can look forward to their console sooner rather than later. Sources suggest that Wii will launch with a $229 price tag and will be available in both black and white. Nintendo has allegedly bumped production of Wii hardware to more than five million units by the end of the year, a significant upgrade to previous numbers. The jump is purportedly based on the positive reaction to Wii from press and industry analysts at E3 2006. The console is unlikely to be region-free, although the lock is unrelated to hardware; a firmware update could theoretically allow gamers to play import software. We presented this information to Nintendo of America for response, but a spokesperson for the company said that it does not comment on rumors and speculation." Notice how the part about lower spec version for a future handheld... is missing?

I did not care at ALL for this game a few weeks back, but I´ve found myself looking at screenshots, videos and articles on it and I just simply put like it. Alot. Looks like a game you´ll pick up to have a good time and yell out loud "Wiiiiiiiii!!!!!i!i!i!i!i!i!i!i!i!"

I think it was a given that Wii got PoP, didn´t every current-gen get at least one PoP? (Not sure of PSP though since I don´t care for that thing) So, you think we might see Sam Fisher swing that Wiimote around and hit some bogie in the neck with it? BG&E? Ghost Recon?

Microsoft's Xbox 360 console is out and Sony announced a release date for PlayStation 3 months ago. And several insiders have told IGN that Tuesday, November 2 could, in fact, be the big day. Insiders claim to have seen final hardware. The Broadway CPU is allegedly in the 750 CL line, a continuation of the 750 GX series. IBM may be working on a revised Broadway chip with a lower clock speed for a future Nintendo handheld -- presumably one that plays GameCube discs. Nintendo has allegedly bumped production of Wii hardware to 5.5 million units by the end of the year, a significant upgrade to previous numbers. The jump is purportedly based on the positive reaction to Wii from press and industry analysts at E3 2006. The console is unlikely to be region-free, although the lock is unrelated to hardware; a firmware update could theoretically allow gamers to play import software. We presented this information to Nintendo of America for response, but a spokesperson for the company said that it does not comment on rumors and speculation. It´s now gone, this is there instead... At the request of our sources, who do not wish to go to jail this week, we have temporarily removed the Wii rumors piece that was posted earlier. We apologize to our readers for the misstep and will work to post the news at a future date. check it : http://wii.ign.com/articles/723/723894p1.html

That´s really nice. Any ideas how they might use the Wiimote?

Ahhhh I don´t know... Three consoles already and I think that´s pushing it... Fourth? Will be too much for the market I think. Most people have 1, maybe 2. Some have all 3, but when the 4th enters the debate and eventually, the living room, things start to get a bit confusing and annoying. Annoying? Each console will propably have something to offer that most of us would want, and therefor it would get annoying that there are FOUR consoles on the market, and who knows what next-next-gen might cost... Unless Sony dies along with the PlayStation brand and in comes S-E... Oh... Maybe that´s a hint
-
The small respect I had for Sony just vaporized right now. They stole Nintendo´s idea and called it their innovation. I´m calling it: FUCK SONY!
-
I agree, I´m not fond of Sonic and I´m really not that into the idea of having Mario and Sonic in a game together. Smash Bros spots for Sonic and co. are fair to make the game "deeper". Would be fun to see Mega Man and other gems. But a Mario & Sonic game... Nah, not for me
-
Wait for it... There´s about 21 hours and 37 minutes untill the Ninty conference starts, so you don´t have to wait too long to find out.

Pffff... Zelda beaten by Halo 3?! The gods are crying! Halo 3 will be like Halo 2 which was pretty much like the original Halo... Lots of corridors that look like the corridors you just walked through and lots of annoying aliens that talk like characters from a Disney movie. Ok I´ll admit it, Halo 2 had decent online play, but the main game was pretty much... Meh... A lot of the same from the orignal... Don´t get me wrong, it´s a good game. But a bit overrated in my opinion... But MP3 I can not wait for. Can´t wait to see how it plays on the Wii

Haha I wasn´t saying that some people think the real one there is a part of the game, I just remember on GS forums at least people were wondering what she has to do with the game. It was also asked in an interview with Nibris, what she has to do with Sadness but I think it wasn´t answered properly. I wasn´t suggesting some people think she´s an in-game character
-
Not sure if this has been mentioned, but I noticed on GS forums that some people are wondering what that woman over there has to do with the game, that is, the real woman. As you can see on the new pics, she holds the controller in the same way as the character below. First she holds it above her head, next image shows her ramming it down, like a sword or a knife, but on the image below the character holds something like a shovel. Or something... Probably a glimpse of how the trailer will showcase the gameplay. Maybe someone will call me Mr. Obvious, that people have figured it out, but I guess some have not noticed this yet.

I´m getting the damn thing no matter what it´s called. They can name it Poohouse for all I care
-
Not trying to make something that would work or look good actually, I´m just bored... so...
-
:EDIT: Sorry... seems like I posted in the wrong thread haha, my fault...
-
That Wii logo right there is a winner... God damn it´s good looking

If people are afraid of the name Wii, then the same people should also be afraid of the PEE ASS PEE! So there are two piss-related gaming devices? The Wee and the Pee Ass Pee... No really. The name will grow on you guys and eventually when you see the thing in all it´s glory, you´ll forget this letdown of yours. (I think)
-
Perrin is a she. I agree with her though, if they would have revealed the name at E3 people would have gone nuts and the room would be ablaze. People would just not understand it that way. It is a weird name and we need some time to digest it. I´m guessing it will grow on most of us, others will still dislike it and some will act like the real kiddies and make pissjokes about it. Grow up, as someone said.

Hey don´t get cranky at me. I´m at work in a lousy comp, and I can´t see Nintendo´s website, I can see the video, but didn´t see the headline there. I don´t even see the Revolution Europe banner in the top here And that´s why I asked if it says it IS the new name
-
Why do you insist it´s the new name for the Rev? Does it SAY it IS the new name? I´m still going for the new Wi-Fi Connection name... To be proven wrong at E3...
-
I think you guys are overreacting. Look at the video. Four i´s playing together. Having fun. No indirect hint that it´s the new Revo name. I guess it´s the name for the Wi-Fi connection. Wii sounds better than "Wi-Fi Connection" So my guess... Not the Revname, but the new Wi-Fi name. New Revoname will be at E3 I guess... But if this IS the new name, well... the name doesn´t mean anything. We want the games, right?
-
Found this on the Gamespot forums, no source given there. Could this be an insight into the Revolution secrets? Or just fancy talk of the things we already know? Also, alot of attention given to the word "game", as you can see below. Nintendo Game? Read it, give your thoughts. Real? Fake? Horsepoo? Game information storage medium and game system using the same Abstract A game information storage medium is removably connected to a first game machine having a first architecture, and includes a game program for a second game machine having a second architecture, an emulator program for converting the second architecture into an architecture compatible with the first architecture, and a game selection program. When the game information storage medium is started-up on the first game machine, by executing the game selection program, the first game machine displays a game title to be selected by a player, and executes a game program of the selected game title by using the emulator program. Video Game controller with display screen Abstract A video game controller assembly having a controller adapted to communicate with a video game console for interfacing with a video game. A display is attached to the controller for displaying an image corresponding to a video signal received from the video game console. Method and apparatus for multi-user communications using discrete video game platforms Abstract A multi-user video game with communications capabilities allows players to communicate with one another via simulated mail, leaflets and conversations. Different installations of the game on different discrete video game playing platforms may be unique or different depending upon random or other data available at the platform. For example, different installations may have different subsets of characters, different landscapes, or the like. Player characters from one virtual environment or village may visit another virtual environment or village and return home to his or her resident environment or village. Non-player characters may move from one virtual environment or village to another--thereby providing an ever-changing variety of characters. Communications between different game playing platforms can be provided via portable memory devices, portable game playing devices, or conventional communications means such as networks. mage processing system for increasing the number of rendered polygons Abstract An entire view volume in a virtual three-dimensional game space to be displayed on a display unit is divided into a front view volume closer to a view point and a back view volume away from the view point. In a first frame of two successive frames, polygons in the back view volume are rendered to generate a back image. In a second frame, with the back image being taken as a background, polygons in a front view volume are rendered to form an entire image. With this, in a portable game machine including a relatively small-sized three-dimensional image processing circuit, polygons more than those that can be generated in one frame by the three-dimensional image processing circuit can be displayed Method and apparatus for interleaved processing of direct and indirect texture coordinates in a graphics system Abstract A graphics system including a custom graphics and audio processor produces exciting 2D and 3D graphics and surround sound. The system includes a graphics and audio processor including a 3D graphics pipeline and an audio digital signal processor. The graphics pipeline renders and prepares images for display at least in part in response to polygon vertex attribute data and texel color data stored as a texture images in an associated memory. An efficient texturing pipeline arrangement achieves a relatively low chip-footprint by utilizing a single texture coordinate/data processing unit that interleaves the processing of logical direct and indirect texture coordinate data and a texture lookup data feedback path for "recirculating" indirect texture lookup data retrieved from a single texture retrieval unit back to the texture coordinate/data processing unit. Versatile indirect texture referencing is achieved by using the same texture coordinate/data processing unit to transform the recirculated texture lookup data into offsets that may be added to the texture coordinates of a direct texture lookup. A generalized indirect texture API function is provided that supports defining at least four indirect texture referencing operations and allows for selectively associating one of at least eight different texture images with each indirect texture defined. Retrieved indirect texture lookup data is processed as multi-bit binary data triplets of three, four, five, or eight bits. The data triplets are multiplied by a 3.times.2 texture coordinate offset matrix before being optionally combined with regular non-indirect coordinate data or coordinate data from a previous cycle/stage of processing. Values of the offset matrix elements are variable and may be dynamically defined for each cycle/stage using selected constants. Two additional variable matrix configurations are also defined containing element values obtained from current direct texture coordinates. Circuitry for optionally biasing and scaling retrieved texture data is also provided. Three-dimensional image generating apparatus, storage medium storing a three-dimensional image generating program, and three-dimensional image generating method Abstract A video game apparatus as a three-dimensional image generating apparatus includes a CPU. The CPU works together with a GPU to generate and display a game image. More specifically, some objects are arranged in a virtual three-dimensional space. The virtual three-dimensional space is converted into a viewpoint coordinate and then projected and converted. After the projection conversion, determination points are set corresponding to a specific object, and the degree of hiding of the specific object is calculated on basis of a Z value of the specific object and Z values of the determination points. According to the degree of hiding, the movement of a viewpoint is controlled or the brightness of the light source is changed.
