My son (8 yo) has for the better part of a year been saving his allowance (about £2 a week) to buy LEGO Optimus Prime. I don't know why he was so determined about that piece but it is quite cool to look at. Now, last weekend he finally bought it and has now finished building it.
He wants to play with it now and keeps transforming it from truck to robot and back but every time he does that, it breaks. Something breaks off of it. I have tried to fix it a bit but can't make it sturdier - it's especially in the torso region it breaks apart. It's crushing him, he gets so angry every time it happens.
It's made me think why we actually buy these sets in the first place. For me, it's building them. For my son, it's both building and playing but he would for the most part be better off just getting an action figure instead and then just play with un-assembled Lego pieces.
My wife then suggested a Lego library. Where one can borrow a piece, build it, disassemble it again and then return it. Not that bad of an idea but I would assume that too many pieces would go missing.

I haven't played the game and I don't know the story. But I enjoy the show a lot and I think it so far works the way they have directed it, even though it supposedly deviates from the source material.

That was a stealthy release - no announced release date, no launch trailer, no nothing?

I'm looking forward to getting a new console and a new Mario Kart. Yeah, it sorely misses a first party single player game, and it baffles me they didn't just release DK Bananza along with the console, but I think they want to give third party games a better chance at performing well.
Game prices have gone up but so has development and everything else. Hopefully they don't release many games at the highest price tag, though, but their dead certain bangers are going to be that price. Smash, Zelda and Mario main games I guess.
I'll probably be playing a few of my backlog games on Switch 2 initially but that's fine, the better and bigger screen and controller is a good enough reason for getting it early.

That was a nice trailer. Sells the movie way better than the previous one.
But... I feel like Galactus should be like... Way bigger.

Yeah. But has it been explcitly stated that it works on Switch 1? I think it's very surprising and it will definitely make an impact here at home because I'll keep the OG Switch for my children.

Apparently, GameShare also works on Switch 1 (on this game at least). https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2025/04/switch-2-split-fiction-owners-can-apparently-use-gameshare-to-invite-nintendo-switch-players:
"Split Fiction will take advantage of the new Nintendo Switch 2 system features GameShare and GameChat. GameShare will enable Nintendo Switch 2 owners to invite another player to play together over a local wireless connection using just one copy of the game. This "other player" can be not only a Nintendo Switch 2 owner but a Nintendo Switch owner as well."

Offline Versus – Play Versus Mode in all fighting titles. Battle to your heart’s content!
I'm very surprised that this is added in... One would expect to be able to play Versus offline from the very beginning?

Im still unsure if I will enjoy the game very much but I am damn sure that my two sons will! They are going to have a blast going through levels, destroying everything.
It's not that I don't think it looks good but from what I've seen I need some more objectives and such. We'll see, since you guys mention Odyssey around this, there might be more to it.
Will need to watch more Treehouse from this.
It comes out during my family vacation, though, and even on my wife's birthday, so will probably have to wait a few days to actually play the game.

Just out in a pre-order for the bundle with Mario Kart World, a Pro Controller and a carrying case. But as I said before, June 5th is a bank holiday in Denmark and I am home alone with all my children so can't really get it on release day!

Sorry for highjacking but I have to show my frustration somewhere.
Trump just crashed the entire stock market everywhere. That's insane but furthermore, he showed off a formula for calculating tariffs for individual regions, it reads:
Now, this looks complicated but they put Epsilon to 4 and Phi to 1/4, so multiplying them gets rid of them. Seriously, did they just publish a formula with redundant stuff just to make it look more complicated?? A relatively civilised country does this so blatantly?? Jeez!

The mouse-con could've been it, but like @Julius says, they felt more like an extra option out of many (which is still cool for many games that are typically better on PC, yes, but no game centers on it).
Well, Drag x Drive is pretty heavy on mouse con usage.
But yeah, they should have shown it used more in MP4.
It also made me wonder where they imagine people playing Switch 2 games. I sit in my couch, I don't imagine the mouse con being very comfortable to use there.

Yeah. The first half of this was a tough watch, them getting on and ok about voice chat like it's something new, and then showing EyeToy like games... Hard pass on that.
Mario Kart Worlds looks great, but it's a multiplayer game for me. So what to play when getting the console?
And that tutorial game? Why isn't that bundled with the console, no-one will pay for that!?
So, yeah, wheelchair basketball, but the controls look really awful. Cant see that getting much support in the long run, though the idea is neat.
Lots of third parties, but all older games, while the new ones didn't really tickle me. Ending with Kirby Air Riders and a new DK game was really surprising, though! Got a good laugh at that!
Smart move not to mention pricing, though. That would have soured the dough quite a bit.
Also, June 5th is a national holiday here in Denmark, so might not be able to get the console until June 6th!
-
Hah. That's funny too!
-
Sorry, but I really laughed at the spelling error in the title.
Office humour.
Looks good, wonder if it'll be fun in single player.

Probably a placeholder price in the high end. I don't know about British rules but in Denmark, if you order something for a certain price, even if the price goes up before the product is available, you get it at the price you ordered it for - but if it goes down, you get it for the cheaper price. Thus, shops set the price tag high enough to guarantee that they do not lose money on the product.

Is anyone watching this? I haven't seen any chat or anything online about it at all, which is a shame, because so far (i'm up to Ep5) it's really good! Ep5 (St Patricks Day one) in particular is just fantastic.
I'm going to once I get the time. Really looking forward to starting it.

I'm torn. It's either pretty smart or rather dumb but it solves the problem I had foreseen as I was planning on letting my sons get my old Switch when Switch 2 launches but I didn't want to lose my games or let them use my profile. This way, they can still play our games on the old Switch.

Best announcement today. Looks great.

Well, that's going to sell very well, I suppose. Wonder if they'll make it something like LEGO Mario or just standalone building sets.
Either way, can't see this be anything else than a huge success.

I've reached the end game now, only the final boss battle to go. Except that I haven't completed the quest for getting the true ending, and seeing that it requires that I collect all 60 of a certain item, I don't think I can be bothered. I'm enjoying the game but backtracking (even after getting the final ability) is a bit of a pain.
I think I got about half of them, though. And the parrot can help.
Other than that, this game is brilliant and can't recommend it enough if you want something fresh and old-school.

I bet Kecleon still isn’t even in it yet.
Actually, it is! It was added so that it is hidden on PokeStops.
But I had the same experience and quit a couple of years ago. Sometimes I still miss it, getting eggs from bike rides and runs and such. But in the end, it was more frustrating than rewarding all in all and it took some of my presentness as I always thought about what could be in different places.

Proximity chat...? So you can chat online but only if you are in the same room?
-
I told my wife that I don't like the look of it and won't buy it.
But that was probably a lie, if I find it at a nice price, I'll get it instantly. But please stop making new sets I need to buy, I haven't got room for them anymore.
I wonder if it'll be able to actually drive if it comes off that stand. My sons would probably like it race it around.

Nintendo Switch 2 (5th June 2025)

I'm quite excited for Switch 2 and can't really wait to get my hands on it. It looks good.
But yeah, I really miss a good single player game to accompany it. MK World looks great and I can probably entertain myself with it for some time but I also like a good story driven game.
Luckily, I still have some Switch games lying around to play on Switch 2, unless they of course aren't supported.
Oh, and yeah, in Denmark nobody seems to be able to actually get the console before the 6th because of a national bank Holiday. The one minor shop I had found that wanted a midnight launch has been told they weren't allowed by the authorities... That sucks.
